It would be fun, that if for sure. At the rate that we are going, number 500 could be here by August. So far, we are averaging a member a day. Maybe the 500th person should host the event at their place. I suppose the easiest thing to do would be plan it around a show like Expo or something. L...

I see, yes the thin tube is the throwout tube, the actual casting that the throwout bearing presses on to is the carrier. I do not have any new carriers, only used. One other thing you can do if all esle fails. Set the finger height at 1", that will bring the fingers 1/4" closer to the throwout bear...

Throwout tube has no effect on clutch setting. Taking pics of the assembled clutch probably will not tell me anything. I think you have the clutch lilnkages and such on the crawler adjusted incorrectly. Read your service manual again, there might be something you missed. It is almost impossible for ...

There is no such thing as a good IT manual. You could order a new service manual from Deere, but they are spendy. Look on E-bay for an old original.

Look at the adjustment procedure in the servie manual and make sure you have it adjusted correctly. The gap is probably about 1/8" give or take. The adjusting bolt for the throwout bearing will be about half way past the edge of the casting when adjusted.

I have a new reprint. It is a reprint, but not a cheesy photocopy, it was professionally done from a good original. Online ordering is SO expensive that for now I am not going to do it. The server space alone is cost prohibitive, let alone the cost of designing the system to do it. I am going to fin...

An 855 Cummins has wet sleeves as well. That does not mean that someoe that knows that fact has ever worked on one and/or feels qualified to comment. If someone on here has something to add, they will add it. I am getting a little tired of some of this.

Get the engine completely disassembled to the bare block. A big problem now may be the lifter bores, but they could be honed if need be. If you have that much internal rust, you need to have the block shotblasted to remove the rust. If you are extremely careful you might be able to sandblast it, but...

In addition to rotating, it must begin to move outward immediately as well.
If you can pull the steering lever back far enough to get the balls out of their sockets, you clutch is grossly misadjusted.
No idea what the other holes are for, but don't use them.

You know, I was just thinking (yeah I know, scary thought), when we hit 500 members, really should have a big get together. You know the wives won't want to go and be around a bunch of idiots talking crawlers. I was thinking some place with lots of food, good looking women, booze, gambling, but not ...
