i hace a 350 crawler and on the back of the air filter housing theirs a barb fitting , and under the instrument panel is a sort peice of dry rotted tubing i guess goes to the barb fitting. does the end of the tubbing stay open or does some sort of breather cap go on it ,

i use my 3/4 ton gmc and goose neck to pull around my crawler. as for the clutches maybe they just need to be adjusted.

well i was able to press off 4th gear on the input shaft with a little heat . i used my torch on low and only applied heat for 1to 2 minutes at tops , the gear didnt get red hot or anything like that , but can i still use this gear and not worry that it might fail later.

yes thrid gear is off . i know that sometimes a woodruff key can get in a bind when trying to press whatever its holding off its shaft. i took a pounch and taped down on it to release some pressure but no success.

yes im using my hydraulic press . the gear is on a splined shaft with a thrust whaser then a set of gears behind it so i cannot press it in the other direction. im afraid of putting to much pressure on the shaft .

glad you were able to get it apart . my drawbar had slots cut into it so it would slide out. someone had the dozer apart before and didn't do a very good job of putting it back together right so i get to do it now. this is a good site with alot of helpful people.
