Re: 350 water pump is tight after 1 year of inactivity

I'd try what Gregjo1948 suggested but if that didn't work, I'd pull the belt off and drive it to the shop even if you had to stop and let it cool down a couple times. I'd bet you could drive it several minutes at a time before it started to get hot.

Re: John Deere 450B idler spring Installation Help

I thought the same thing but once I ran a tap thru mine they cleaned up pretty good. If you've not done it yet, I'd take a sand blaster to the cap to really determine the shape of the threads. They might surprise you, 1" threads have very wide turns. A good machine shop can do miracles, I had one re...

Re: John Deere 450B idler spring Installation Help

It's been a long time but if memory serves me right, it's 1". The "end cap" so to speak of the spring assembly is threaded. I had to purchase a tap to clean my threads out to get mine to thread in correctly.

Re: new member intro, 450C in northern MS

Ya, it takes ALOT of fluid to do a complete service. I run: http://xtremeoil.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/PDS-Xtreme-Tractor-Hydraulic-Fluid.pdf I can get it on sale for $28.00 per 5 gallon pail at my local farm store and meets the JD specification J20A, B (Hy-Gard), J14B (303 Fluid), J14A/C . I t...

Thanks for all the posts, I think I'll try and run down a gauge. I doubt that's it it shows 60psi when cold but might as well rule out the easy stuff first.

Where did you buy your motor from?

Ive not seen very many dozers with the backhoe hooks on the back. Thats neat.

Looks like youre going thru it right the first time.

Thanks for the ideas and comments. Im still looking it all over and was thinking about my oil pressure issue. I know that can typically be camshaft bearings too, but I do not see any mention of them in the 4219. Does it not have camshaft bearings? I know there are some older tractors made that way i...

I was doing my annual maintenance on my 450c loader and it got me to thinking. I think I need to put a bottom end in my motor, it has great oil pressure cold but struggles warm. My injector pump needs rebuilt. Its addicted to either to start Its got a broken exhaust manifold Im wondering if I would ...

I thought that had to with the Hydraulics, basically telling you the filter was clogged up. I thought the air cleaner was covered under the air cleaner restriction which was more like the clear tube with with the reset button on the end. On my 450c manual it says " A pressurized reservoir and spin-o...

I run Rotella motor oil but I agree any quality diesel oil is fine. I use Xtreme Tractor Hydraulic fluid for all the internals you mentioned. The specification is for a Hydraulic Oil that meets J20A and it does. It's locally available most any farm and home type store. If you don't have the avilable...

I just looked thru the manual for my 450c and it does not have an adjustment procedure either. All it says it to remove it keep shims in the proper sequence and then install them back. I guess they assume it will never need adjusted after the factory does it. Sounds like you're on your own as far as...
