Glad you were able to fix your starter. I've had to take apart my switch twice over the years. As you found, the copper contacts will gall and/ or misalign. That switch was probably my first repair on my machine, and one of the least expensive . Best wishes. Paul

Have you played with the load jet? I'll second Lavoy's thoughts too. There are some pretty small ports in the center tube that plug easily. Good luck. Paul

Yes. When I broke down my drum, it appears that I need a lock ring on the outboard bearing, and don't on the inboard bearing. Any thoughts Tom? Thanks. Paul

update: used two "lock-ring bearings as the manual indicated.
