Re: JD450C third head gasket This is getting old
I’m thinking damage to the low side or debris under the high side. It is not uncommon for debris to be left on the liner landing or to fall in with the liner installation. Hopefully no a block problem. I agree with Lavoy, just push the one suspect liner out. Port-a-power from the bottom on the liner...

Re: 450 STAIGHT oil pressure issue
While the pan is off, consider using some plasti-gauge in at least one rod and one crank bearing.

Re: 450 STAIGHT oil pressure issue
My guess is a aged oil pump and ever increasing bearing gaps in the crank, rods, cam and balancing shafts. It sounds like you have an otherwise good engine. If you are certain your oil pressure reading is accurate, you could consider an underhaul. It takes 10-12# of pressure to float the rotating ma...

Re: How to remove the hydraulic hose on the boom cylinder on a 450c loader?
This last summer's project was to replace all 12 hoses on my 450C loader. I blew a boom lift hose out with a bucket full of dirt while on-the-job. I replaced mine with the machine in the field. I placed a thread on this site documenting the hydraulic hose size/dimensions etc. I rolled the bucket for...

Sounds like worn out clutch/friction discs. No easy way around it.

Re: Looking for a 6 way blade for a JD 450
I believe he is the wrecker in Kalispell JWB was referring to earlier in this thread. I paid $1,500. Every bushing was worn out, center pin was super loose and there were no lift cylinders.

Re: seized left steering clutch on 420C
The 420C clutch/brake mechanism is meant to be dry. If use will not break it loose, you must disassemble the unit. No liquids in the clutch housing.

Fuel solenoid, I thinkslabguy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 12:32 pmEnded up being fuel. See pic for the culprit. I haven’t read in to this yet but this wire broke that goes to a fuel control valve (not sure what it’s really called). Maybe controlled while key is on or something. Not real sure.

Re: Looking for a 6 way blade for a JD 450
I need a couple myself, one for a 450E widepad and one for a 450 narrow pad. I cleaned out a Kalispell Montana wrecker of all his stock in April. Doesn’t sound like they plan on buying any more older dozers for wrecking so might have to drive a bit further to find them. I found some in Washington s...

Re: Looking for a 6 way blade for a JD 450
Vander Haags in Spencer, Iowa has one. They are trying to sell it on EBay by the piece. There are pics, search 1978 450c cylinder. Super $$$ as Vander Haags always is, but the blade look In good nick.

Re: 3325 winch issue
Yes. The hydraulics that operate the piston or diaphragm is a blind end system , so I would cycle bxt free spool and wind in to fully circulate the Seafoam.
