Re: Dumped my hydraulic fluid, am I damaging my pump?

If you are looking for a line that is Flexible, take a look at this https://ph.parker.com/us/en/multipurpos ... -z-form-mp

E-Z Form MP Oil Resistant Flexible Suction Hose, Multipurpose, Series 7219

Have had good results with it in tight areas.

Re: Dumped my hydraulic fluid, am I damaging my pump?

Jim has provided the best answer. If it's a loader, my guess is that it's the pressure line since the only lines running tot the front through the belly pan are the pressure and suction lines for the pump. If you wrap the line as suggested, don't move the bucket handle. You may be able to get it out...

Re: 450C Crawler w/Backhoe blowing hydraulics

Can you could, please post a crude hydraulic schematic of how you have this plumed before you seriously injure yourself or someone else. Injection of hydraulic oil into bloodstream is a very serious thing that could kill you or someone else. I would also like to suggest you stop using this machine i...

Re: Possible water pump issue, JD450

Agree with Jim having waited myself. Didn't trash the radiator but did trash the fan blade. Fix it now. Little suggestion if you do remove the nose. Pull the pump coupling back and put extra fan belts in before reconnecting pump. I zip tied them out of the way until needed.

Re: 450c 6-way fittings?

Flow = speed
Force/pressure = restriction of flow,
Reduced pressure = reduced force
If you want to reduce the flow the correct method is to replace the pump with one that is smaller, i.e. less cu/in pre rev equals less flow for a given RPM with a gear pump.

Re: Hydraulic oil fill line

I'm not familiar with the term "fill line" Elaborate

My bad I didn't read it correctly.... that was both a duh and old moment. I generally have mine toward the top with bucket down and level with the ground.

Don't use a helicoil.... use this https://www.timesert.com/. Or, tap for oversize plug as others have suggested.

Re: 450-C Injection pump and timing questions

2nd that on the umbrella seals. Get extra's, it's better to have them and not need them than need them and not have them. Getting the engine to TDC is the correct way, but once your pull the pump you will notice a dot on the end of the tang shaft. There is a corresponding dot on the Distributor roto...

Yea it's a little over the edge i agree, but with the amount of money a person has invested in the build, in most cases it's a proverbial drop in the bucket.

Re: JD450C third head gasket This is getting old

FWIW. Another means of pre lubing the engine like this is much the same as some of the newer automotive engines where you can't spin an oil pump shaft. I made a 5 gal bucket that has an SB chevy oil pump mounted to the lid. The oil pump pick-up is extended to within 1/2 inch of the bottom when the l...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

My 450C came with 2 batteries, I removed one when I had to replace them. I've gotten my property mostly cleared now so I don't use the loader as often as I once did, if it's cold out I stay inside. That being said, one battery has been fine. I have to say though, the real stating improvement has bee...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Connecting the ground to the engine instead of the battery box is a good idea. FYI the gear reduction starters starters spin the motors faster than the conventional starters do, and they are less expensive. The part number I got was a 140-915 6570. Also, if you remove the injector pump and spin the ...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Internet troubleshooting is difficult...... At one point I was with LeonardL and a hydraulic. If you have a voltmeter connect to the positive terminal of the starter and starter ground and see what the voltage does. If you are going to replace the battery cables consider getting welding cable it is ...
