That doesn't sound like a timing issue, it sounds like an issue with the load control governor inside the pump. That is what controls the engine speed for a given throttle position. Generally that is what goes wrong with these pumps. search for "mouse turds" and you'll see a number of postings on th...

The JDB pumps have umbrella seals on the shaft they are very easy to damage when installing them. if you didn't use the proper tools or method to keep them from flipping on you, I would suspect they could leak in short order. Sorry DrLoch, you beat me to it! :) Been there, done that... got eh dirty...

A Stanadyne is a roosa master Sorry don't know that much about the 350 series. I do know a little about the injector pump having rebuilt a number of them now. If the seal on the shaft got ripped when the injector pump was being installed that would solve the engine oil overfull issue. I'm making a ...

78 450C Radiator hoses and bypass hose
I noticed a new vibration at certain RPM on my loader this past weekend. Knowing my water pump bearing was going bad I reached and was able to move the fan blade quite a bit. When I stated it up again you can see that wobbling around quite a bit.... water pump time.. I went to the JD pars site to ge...

When you say quit working, do you mean nothing worked or things operated slowly? That is the return filter, that wouldn't make the hydraulics stop working. When it gets clogged it will spit open like you see. See if you can cut it open, if so look to see what the debris is. Since it was 2 gallons lo...

Hi, One thing that might have been lost, is change the fuel filter . There was probably quite a bit of sediment in the bottom of the tank. It tends to not flow out - until you use that last couple of quarts. That means it is now all in the filter. It is much better to pay for a filter than the pump...

1st, I would go easy on the staring fluid or your going to end up having more problems that running it out of fuel. I'm guessing that this is indeed a dozer and you don't have any manuals. if it was a loader it's much harder to get at the filter or the injector pump with the bucket down. Wish I coul...

I'm hoping it the pin. Next thing is to find a pin.. If not I will make one. In our building we have a full machine shop so if I have a used one in hand or know the exact measurements I can design up and machine a new one. I need to repack move bucket cylinders as well, they drift and the bucket rot...

Improvise, adapt and overcome. Nice information, I need to replace some of my lines as well as a boom lift cylinder pin or fix the pocket. Did you rig the bucket up on something to get the boom cylinder out? I was thinking of making a shorter bucket support that would go between the end of the cylin...

Replaced the Deere alternator with the one Mark suggested on Sunday, all is well now. Voltage is a steady 14.5 at the battery, a little higher at the bat connection on the alternator. I ran the sense line to a terminal that is powering the switch. I changed the pulley to a 5/8" width pulley and the ...

450C Loader frame cylinder pins
I noticed one of pins is moving when I lift the bucket which I will need to replace, hopefully it's just the pin and not the pin and the pin receiver on the other side of the cylinder, inboard. The pin PN is a AT31949. I've looked at the Deere site which refers me to the locate dealer... Does anyone...

MarkW, You are correct with regards to the field wire to the regulator. No diode or light required in this case since the field wire is on the acc side of the switch. I'm going to check the regulator connector to make sure the sense line is getting battery voltage. If it is and the voltage is still ...
