Re: 450 plain

I found a pic of the track frame in my parts catalog, and the pieces I was asking about were shown in the pic so I guess I need to try to replace them.

450 plain

I'm in the process of replacing chains, sprockets, springs and slack adjusters on my 450 plain dozer. When I removed the adjusters on one side a piece that looked like a piece of pipe came out of the part that the front spring seat sits against. On the other side it looked like a piece of split pipe...

Re: 1010ru tractor

Sorry for the delay. Thanks Lavoy and Stan for your replies. This tractor has a 5speed trans with a single clutch and the PTO is hydraulic the best I can figure out. It has 540 and 1000 rpm PTO. I found a forum exclusive to the 1010. The owner indicated he had medical problems and posts ended a long...

Re: water in hydraulic oil

I've sold Seafoam for years and have never hear of this use for it, but this is good to know. Thanks for the tip Lavoy.

Re: 1010ru tractor

Thanks Stan. I was wondering if the basic tractor would be the same on a 1010 crawler and a wheel tractor. I bought this for a project. It supposedly has bad bearings in the transmission. The tires on it are worth what I paid for it,so if I can't fix it I'll use them on my other tractor, then part i...

1010ru tractor

Hi, I just purchased a 1010 RU tractor and was wondering if anyone knows of a forum as good as this one for JD wheel tractors. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Fuel wont Bleed after Fuel Filter replacement

It still sounds like you have a seal in the top of the element blocking fuel flow. Try removing the element and look in the top of it right at the outer edge for a gasket in there. You should be able to see holes all around the edge of the element and a gasket out of place there will close off those...

Re: Fuel wont Bleed after Fuel Filter replacement

Did you change the seal in the filter housing? I helped a cousin of mine who had this problem on a Ford tractor. He put the new seal on top of the filter without removing the old seal from the groove causing the new seal to go down into the top of the filter blocking the flow of fuel.

Re: Banjo style fittings

I have a B414 IH and the banjo fittings on it will leak sometimes. Most of the time they will stop leaking on their own. Other times I just tighten the bolt a little. My theory is this is caused by vibration.

Re: Brocken bolts on clutch housing

I used Harbor Freight bits to drill one out in my clutch housing. It was broke off even with the housing. I started out small and kept moving up a size till I got close to the threads, then chiseled it out.

Re: 350C engine re posted in proper forum.

Just a thought. I have had on old Super A Farmalls With a weak battery the starter drive will stick in the ring gear and lock up engine. When you loosen the starter bolts it will come out allowing engine to turn over again. Could this explain what happened when you took your starter off?

Re: 450B transmission

Is a collar shift and a constant mesh trans the same thing? I have the PC922 manual and it shows HLR and constant mesh.
