Guido, if you can pull it without any problems then the lower shafts most likely aren't the problem or is the engine turning when you pull it?. If the engine isn't turning then it must be in the input or pto. Can you turn the top shaft with a bar with out turning the engine? If you can pull it witho...

Buddy, yes it is expensive to repair a reverser but let me inject one thing here. I would say it depends what kind of work you plan to do with the crawler. I have a 440 with and a 40 without and I sure hate bulldozing with the 40. The big thing is if you do any long pushes it takes for ever to back ...

puttputt, I'll try to answer your second question first. It could be a couple of things. If just the pressure plate is moving it isn't attached tightly to the clutch assembly. If the whole assembly is moving then the bearings are most likely bad. There also are other possibilities like a busted shaf...

RedDirt, I can't help you much, but I'll try a little. As to the seeking"as you put it, mine does the same thing and I don't think it is any thing to worry about. Also for the most part you will be operating at full throttle so it shouldn't be a problem. As far as the back hoe goes I can't help as t...

Dennis you said that the brake was frozen if thats the case that could be the biggest part of the problem. I haven't worked on an MC for over 35 years but I think its the same as my 40, in which case the brake and clutch pedals are on the same shaft. If the brake is froze then it may not be letting ...

There is a lot of controversy over how much starting fluid is to much, I woud say a quarter can and not even any firing that is to much and there is some thing wrong. Also if you have glow plugs and if they may work at all you never want to use starting fluid. Mark:

I don't know how scarce parts are but I did luck out when I needed some for my 440, I got the last of the linings and some other parts that the used parts guy had. At least one part was not real good but better then mine, and none of them were cheap. This was about 4 years ago. As far as using the r...

Just came across this post as I haven't been on the board for several months. My guess if you have water in the oil and water out the exhaust the crack between the valve guides would be a good possibility. Another place there could be a leak is around an injector if its a diesel. This I'm not sure a...

Thanks for the info. Thought that might be it. Wouldn't it run down to the bottom of the engine though, and not end right above the rear of the engine? Mark:

440 ICD fuel lines

When I took the hood off I noticed there are 2 lines that come out of the top of the fuel tank. One goes down the right side to the right side of the head. The other goes from the top center to the right side then across the front and is broken off there. I see no other sign of were it went. Is it n...
