40C show and tell and front bolster?

So had a chance to tinker a bit. It was starting really hard and backfiring, so checked the points and they looked pretty bad. A trip to Napa and they had just about everything on the shelf: http://i481.photobucket.com/albums/rr178/hydrogeo/photobucket-435702-1327858363876.jpg Napa stuff was a littl...

Not sure if it will help but I had an early 70s IH crawler that the only way I could get all the air out of the fuel system was to apply a bit of air pressure to the tank by holding a rag around a blow gun in the filler neck. If I didn't bleed it that way it would run exactly as you described.

Anybody have a copy of a parts or service manual for a Carco Model C Series 2? Just spooled mine up with a new cable, and the winch works fine but the brake won't hold and the linkage is awful tight. It would be nice to have a diagram before I tear into it. As with another poster, I contacted Paccar...

I was just by Nash Equipment earlier today.
Old Eddy was known far and wide for his horse trading. Saw that 420 on CL too. Looks real clean in the photo.

40c is this uc original

So finally had some time to play around with my 40c over the holiday. It clearly is a mongrel, as it looks to have 420c tins and it appears to have once had an outside mount blade http://i481.photobucket.com/albums/rr178/hydrogeo/photobucket-1431-1324952538687.jpg The sprockets look pretty good but ...

Thanks, sorry by corked I mean short raised pieces on the grousers about an inch high. Many logging machines around here have them , was just curious if there was some sort of logging package from the factory. Will pass on the blade then.

A few 40c questions

Hi, New to the forum. Just acquired a 40c (55 I believe), and am really excited. Have known about this machine for 30 years, owner finally decided he no longer needed it. It is stored remotely so no pics yet. Should be able to get it home next month, and will know more then The machine is a 4-roller...
