Not sure if it will help but I had an early 70s IH crawler that the only way I could get all the air out of the fuel system was to apply a bit of air pressure to the tank by holding a rag around a blow gun in the filler neck. If I didn't bleed it that way it would run exactly as you described.

Anybody have a copy of a parts or service manual for a Carco Model C Series 2? Just spooled mine up with a new cable, and the winch works fine but the brake won't hold and the linkage is awful tight. It would be nice to have a diagram before I tear into it. As with another poster, I contacted Paccar...

Thanks, sorry by corked I mean short raised pieces on the grousers about an inch high. Many logging machines around here have them , was just curious if there was some sort of logging package from the factory. Will pass on the blade then.

Hi, New to the forum. Just acquired a 40c (55 I believe), and am really excited. Have known about this machine for 30 years, owner finally decided he no longer needed it.
