Re: oil leak---HELP

I pulled the final drives off my 350c to clean out a lot of debris that was apparently left in them after clutches were replaced, and there was a lot of water in the hydraulic fluid. On re-assembly is there a preference for what to use as a gasket maker between the clutch housing and final drive hou...

Re: 350C Reverser - Clutch Pressure Regulating Valve

The good news is we got the engine back in, wired up and got the dozer started again. There's now 125psi at the test port :D with no shims installed. I was able to push some dirt, bury the blade and get both tracks to spin. So, i believe we finally got it fixed. The information on this message board...

Re: JD350 service manual question (dumb) 6305/6310?

Thanks for the info B Town

I am looking to buy a 1978 JD350CE with 6 way blade, so that would be a 6305 then and should have an 80" wide blade.

Thanks again!

JD350 service manual question (dumb) 6305/6310?

Ok, hoping some confusion can be cleared up for me. I have a service manual for a JD350 C/D* model (TM1115). The cover says 350C, 350D Bulldozer... The confusion comes on page I-II-3, actually the whole specifications section. The dimensions for the dozer show options for models 6305 and 6310... why...

Re: 350C Reverser - Clutch Pressure Regulating Valve

Update on dozer. I've made two trips to work on the dozer since the last update. The first trip we did a lot of pressure testing, checking valves, springs, shims, adjustments of each lever (clutch, reverser, steering clutches, etc.) We could not get the PSI above 25. From the list of things to do in...

Re: 350C Reverser - Clutch Pressure Regulating Valve

Thanks for the kind words and information. I've spent a number of years finding forums and reading lots of posts for the various hobbies I get involved with. When I need help, or have an issue, I try to put enough information in a post that someone else can follow along and understand the issues I w...

Re: 350C Reverser - Clutch Pressure Regulating Valve

The dozer has new clutches and brake bands. After getting everything back together the dozer would not move. This is the condition it was when the owner purchased it 3 years ago. So now it has new clutches, brakes and one new bearing in the left final drive. The following details the pressure testin...

Re: 350C Reverser - Clutch Pressure Regulating Valve

I am back at the site today working on the dozer. I put a pressure gauge on the test port at the top rear 1/8 plug. It read 25psi. I'm in the process of isolating the control valve pressure line from the reverser to see if the control valve is dumping the pressure back to the sump. If not then I'll ...

Re: 350C Clutch Control Valve Adjustment

Jim thanks for the detailed answers. Your information is very helpful and clears up a lot on this procedure. There should be an award emoji! LeonardL, thanks for your information too. I think we both agree on the lack of clarity in the Deere manual. Your procedure will get me in the ballpark to star...

350C Reverser - Clutch Pressure Regulating Valve

The Clutch Pressure Regulating Valve Plug was removed from the 350C dozer I have been working on. The Plug, alum. washer, spring and a penny came out of the hole. I believe the penny was used as a shim, its a 1969 penny, for what that's worth :D The Relief Valve did not "fall" out of the hole. I ass...

350C Clutch Control Valve Adjustment

The service manual documents a procedure to adjust the steering valve rods and levers. It seems straight forward if you have done it before. However, this is the first time I'll be making these adjustments and I have a few questions for those that have done it before. The manual states to start the ...

Re: 350C Brake self adjustment assembly?

So the "tab" goes under the adjuster nut? In my picture we have it on top of the nut, I think it was a guess. I'll definitely be pulling the covers off again to make sure these are correct. Hopefully it'll be running this week and I can decide if I'm buying it. Kinda the devil I know at the moment, ...

Re: 350C Brake self adjustment assembly?

Thanks for all the info and comments. This is a great forum. The guy working on it is pretty religious but he's dropped some colorful language a few times. It's kinda funny as it's so unexpected. I'm glad he's letting me help as well. He's given me some good info and letting me get my hands dirty, w...

Re: 350C Brake self adjustment assembly?

That's the part I was curious about. I'll be pulling it back apart if I buy the machine. This machine is strange. The brake bands are new. They appear to have a thicker metal back than the old ones according to the owner. On the right side the band was hitting the bottom of the case where the castin...

Here is a picture (I hope) of the brake assembly on the left side. Does that look assembled correctly?
