1010C Paint Question?

I have 3 of the side emblem plates that go on each side of the hood. I have carefully worked out any dents, sanded out any scratches and steel wooled the edges and letters that are to be shiny aluminum. My question is, does anyone know if the black background is to be flat, matte, semi-gloss, gloss,...

The total length of the tool bar is 48". There is a center hole, then one 12" to each side of that and then one 9 1/2" to each side of those, 5 positions total. You can run the shanks up to 15" deep. I only have 3 shanks, so I have never filled up all five to see how it pulls. In sand, you can put 3...

Hey - this is Florida. :D Daytime highs are still in the 80's. Nighttime lows may get down in the 40's in a few days though. Never get a chance to push snow around - sounds like a good excuse to have a dozer up north, more JD play time. :P

#35 Ripper Pictures

Here it goes, the first time I posted pics, hope they are sized right and don't take up to much space. http://home.earthlink.net/~bighamlin/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/jd1010a.jpg I got new shanks as shown, they are for a JD grader but are the same specs as the original ones that are no l...

Will it fit a 1010? Is it the big broad one that stays in place when you hook up an implement or is it the one that is just barely larger than the 540 shaft that you take off the single stud when you use it?

Really Nice!!! Sharp paint also. I hope my 1010 looks that good when I get done. Mine is a little different though, a Diesel with a 6way (612) and a ripper (35).

Clarification

Quite a alot to get straight. So, am I to interpret this; Use only cornhead grease on both the 5 rollers (1010 c) and upper idler? Can I use the cornhead grease on the track tension or anywhere else? If I go to a pistol type grease gun, will it delelop enough pressure to adjust the track tension? I ...

Side Name Plates

Yes, I to thought it was a good deal, considering the ones I have look like hell. I was able to pick up these for about $60 including shipping. I wanted new ones, and seriously regret not bidding on some NOS about 6-12 months ago. That new set went for about $200+. At least now my 1010 C Diesel will...

JD Model 35 vs 36 Ripper

I have a JD model 35 (1960-1962) ripper on my 1010 and can only find the shanks and tips from a model 36 (1963-?) ripper. Does anyone know if the model 36 shanks will fit the model 35? I have the parts diagrams of both and it looks like it will fit other than the retaining wedges are different. The ...

Thanks - I have only had the dozer a week now and have not used it other than to unload it. The first thing I did was order the OM & PC from my deere dealer. I did find the didpstick thanks to you and the presure washer - it was on the floorboard, covered in grease/dirt directly under the left steer...

Strange, I can't even find the dipstick you discribe. There are two cutout holes in the operator station floorboard though. I assumned the transmission was full of Hydraulic fluid like my other JD tractors (this is my first crawler). There is a resevoir on the front right of engine for hydraulic flu...
