Just my 2 cents but we have a cat 933 diesel loader in addition to a few JDs and we had water in the oil and lost oil pressure after it was hot. The solution for the oil pressure problem was that there was to much clearance in the main bearings. That was an expensive one. The the water problem was t...

Wanted T13880T Idler cover need 2

I am looking for 2 idler covers part number T13880T, does anybody have a couple they can part with?

Are there any aftermarket sources for the M2266T bushings that go into the rollers and front idlers or is Deere the only source?

Thanks,
Mike

Popular Mechanics or Popular Science

I don't know if anybody remembers Smokey Stover's comic strip or not but I remember seeing an article about the foomobile and how to build one in either Popular Mechanics or Popular Science. If anyone can help me locate what issue has the article I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mike

upper idler interchange question

I have a 420 5 roller with the straight upper idler support. When I bought this basket case crawler it had 2 new upper rollers that came with it, along with the worn out ones that needed changed. The new parts have part number T14777T cast in the back of them, the old ones are too worn to see any nu...

steering clutch thickness

My book says min thickness is .145, but I would think they would be useable below that if you could adjust the clutch fingers. Just my 2 cents.

JD 1010 c weight

Any idea what a 1010 gas crawler with a blade might weigh? I am considering buying one, and I have 2 trailers, a 7000lb and 15ton. I don't want to pull the larger one if I don't have too. The tracks are off the crawler and I could put them in the back of the truck and I think I would be okay with th...

JD 1010 tracks onto a 420

I asked some questions before about undercarriage interchange and I want to make sure I have this straight. If I want to swap 1010 tracks onto a 5 roller 420 they will fit the orginial sprockets or do I need the narrower offset sprocket? Will 1010 sprockets fit the final drives on a 420 if I need to...

420 final drive question

I am redoing the final drives on my basket case 420 that I just had to buy and I have a question. When I got the crawler one final drive was in pcs, I have all new bearings, seals, etc. Now my question, on the axle shaft , the thrust washer that goes against the large gear, part number M1005T, was t...

JD 1010 blade on to a JD420

How much of a hassle would it be to adapt a JD 1010 dozer blade to a JD 420? Is anything a direct bolt on?

Thanks,
Mike
