oil leak---HELP

we just rebuilt my brother-in-law's 350c transmission, assembled the final drives with Loctite 515 - cleaned-primed, let it set overnight and when we filled it they leak-----both sides the same. my question is should we use a diff. sealer such as Permatex ultra black or something of that sort ?????

Be sure to shim BOTH end bearings properly. mine was deafening prior to the shimming I did. They all whine a little from the one's I have heard, and possibly the gears were worn in such a way that after the bearing repair in your reverser they do not mesh exactly the same to each other causing the w...

Normal for that style, I converted mine because the springs are known to break and jam up the engine by wedging between the flywheel and reverser body....then it's a tow. I will bring my thread up from when I did mine and you can see how it's done....it was pricey, over 2 g's if memory serves.

No, pulling the power unit out of these crawlers is very easy(at least on the dozer models) If you look at the side pic with the springs you can see what the rattle is --- the small fingers that stick out under each spring at the flywheel surface come in contact with the dowel pins an cause the nois...

Without hearing it your correct - it's tough. JT Richards is probably correct on the isolator although most people call it a "rattle" not a bearing noise. floorboards come out easy, possibly get a better listen with them out. this site is the best for help.
