I understand and feel your frustration. At the dealership where I work, we have had 3 different owners in the last 20 years. The current owners (since April) are typical big corporate America.....21 Ag stores and 21 Construction stores. At my store we got 1 box (50) of the dog calendars. That's all ...

Wow...I don't check here for a few days and .......... Seriously this is one of the best boards I check on a regular basis and I hate to see any blowups and people leaving. There is a wealth of information both posted on this board and in peoples heads. So many are so helpful and willing to share. I...

I've talked to some of the Deere engineers over the years and found most of them to be quite open and helpful. They are quick to point out the "tradeoffs" mentioned in an earlier reply. The corporate "beancounters" can over ride the engineers designs in a lot of cases and utilize a cheaper method th...

I appreciate your comments gsont. I agree, respect is a 2 way road. I've been a JD ag parts guy for 18 years...before that AGCO and automotive. I always try to be open to a little joking around. I also pride myself on being professional and taking care of our customers. Customers expect me to be exp...

I went to the Steam Up for the first time this year. Already planning to go next year. Lots of John Deere wheel tractors. The only JD crawler I saw was the non running Lindeman. If I had more time, I'd be tempted to drag my MC over the hill.....but this time of year I do good to get away for one day.

Oil Filter

I would buy the plate from Lavoy....I know they have not been available from John Deere for years....

I put the 6v electronic ignition in my MC. It runs better than it has for years, but it acts just like Lavoy says when I start it. I get by because I seldom have to start it in cold weather...

I read the book and really enjoyed it. He had some good insight on some of the issues relating to why the tanks were made the way they were. I reccomend it as a good read.

I like the one I put in my MC...but Lavoy is correct...it takes all the juice to crank it...then it starts when I let go of the knob. I've got new cables and an Optima battery...and I'm not trying to start it in sub zero weather.
