Re: Yup, I did it....
well in Texas you can get away with it......sometimes Morning dtoots, In rural areas yes we do have some leeway but every now and again an over zealous trooper comes along. In urban areas not too much: look illegal and you'll get popped and forced to park it.Usually it's the guys hauling for pay wi...

Re: Yup, I did it....
Good evening, Amos I think you weight estimate of rock may be a little light. Crushed limestone is ~2,700#, peacock is ~2,400-2,900#, Sand is between 2,600-3,000#. All dependent on moisture content and grade. Sounds like you had a good days productivity. Bruce Morning B Town, Gravel I'm hauling is ...

Yup, I did it....
I've never been one to dodge responsibility and it's doubly hard when working by myself(no imaginary friends.yet...)So yesterday was moving gravel from factory lot to farm. Weighs about 1 ton per yard so 6 buckets with my 1 yard loader is 6 ton. Problem is tag for capacity on bucket is missing on th...

Re: 1010 roller rock guard
Pain in the behind job to get those broken bolts out but it really needs to be done my friend.Rails are fairly "light" and as Stan and Lavoy pointed out the guards are there to brace and prevent flexing and bending. I've used a cutting rig to blow a hole through broken bolts and the pounded in an EZ...

Re: Good Back Story...
Morning Btown, The 70's and early 80's tractors and equipment are probably my favorites: can still get parts, they still had some iron in 'em and working on them is fairly simple and easy. Yanmar I've been playing with had a crushed right fender when I got it(and a bad engine). Used a 2x4 for a lever...

Re: JD 350 Engine
JDJIM, I went by Dogget machinery today(local JD construction servicing dealer) and talked to them about your IP. What we found was that JD only used Roosa-Master IP's on the straight 350 series dozers and crawler loaders(not 350B,350C etc). But you have a Bosch. Now I'm wondering if someone did a c...

Re: JD 350 Engine
Talked to Mark and he said you may have a bad hydraulic head on the IP. Next suggestion: call General Gear at 208-342-8911. They are a heavy equipment salvage yard with mostly older equipment (I think in Idaho) and they may have the correct IP.

Good Back Story...
And it happened again  Ford 3600 diesel tractor. Photographed well on CL ad so I called the man." Well he says,I found this with some other equipment an older farm couple had and I don't need the smaller tractor. It's a beauty and they bought it new and used it for some mowing only.Pretty much...

MOrning dtoots, We're in that dang "rains every dang weekend" cycle here in NE Texas again. Warming up but we'll get another cold snap in the next few weeks: just cold enough and long enough to kill the mater plants that were just planted... But come 2nd week of April and I'll be a plantin fool. Use...

Little tractor that could did
:D Little yanmar ym3000 diesel I did the engine rebuild(and other repairs) on still hasn't sold so I hooked a disc on it and worked the garden plot I just plowed last week.Still a little wet but not a mud-hole.High clay dirt. Pulled the 4.5' tandem 18" disc in 5th gear and never lugged down(did spin...

Re: JD 350 Engine
Ok thanks for the info. There's nothing wrong with my engine but I have a bosch injector pump that I have sent to 3 different places, all claiming they could fix it, all have failed, so my only options so far is get another engine or put a CAV pump on it that costs..1495 and up from the people I've ...

Hi Terry, You're not alone. I stopped watching team sports decades ago when it turned into big business. I did use to go to a farm league baseball game pretty regular until they moved the franchise. Pro level anything is all about the money and to me is a waste of time and MY money. Is any ball playe...

Morning Stan, Anytime I look at a piece of equipment with new paint I go into hyper-vigilant mode especially if the seller is a private party and any other equipment there is looking like it's been rode hard and put up wet. Conversely if I'm selling something I rarely paint it(has been a few excepti...

Re: Inj Pump Irritations and Frustrations
Injection pump still not done and while waiting I downloaded the manual for the engine and did find the timing marks: a small side bevel cut on the drive gear and a small notch on the crankshaft pulley(very small cut). Got everything set to a few degrees before TDC on #1 cylinder and IP should be do...
