That's frustrating about the undercarriage. On the plus side, at least the engine and trans seem to be running good, so I think that's a big plus. I know what you mean about the love hate thing, I put all new seals in mine when I redid it and things still leak, drives me crazy. Keep your eyes open f...

This should have all that you need. Parts catalog is a free download if you don't have it.

Looks like you're making good progress. Things are making a little more sense now that I see you're doing more of a GNCC style track, I was initially thinking MX style. Before you go digging into the alternator too far, put a voltmeter across the battery terminals when the dozer is running. If you'r...

Pretty cool story and a pretty good looking machine.

You better post pics of the track and the bikes.

I've known many people and power plant shops that set an I-beam in the concrete with the top plate of the beam being flush with the finished concrete. When you pull the dozer in, you're actually putting the weight on the beam. Works very well.

Looks like you've been busy. Those are great pics. I fought with my brake band two or three times and then decided to do it kind of opposite of the normal way and it worked pretty well for me. What did you square your tube with to ensure the it was in the proper position to align the sprocket and id...

What kind of shape is it in Gil? Here's another one that looks like is in really nice shape. There are some things that look like it's been pretty rusty at one time. http://www.ebay.com/itm/John-Deere-440-Industrial-Crawler-Dozer-with-GM-Diesel-Engine-6-Manual-Blade/111735208613?_trksid=p2047675.c10...

If a 1010 is like a 440 then the o-rings are in the valve not on the spool if I remember right. There were two on mine, one is way up in there.
Look up the parts catalog on Deere's website and see what the exploded view shows.

I don't know a whole lot about MC's but yes there should be a steering clutch adjustment.
As far as the pads go, Lavoy might have some but I think a lot of the track related stuff is no longer available new for the MC.

To upload a picture you must first upload the picture to a photo hosting site such as photobucket.
You can then use the different links that photobucket provides to post the picture here.
You might want to state your location.

You must elaborate more on this "slobber tank" because mine slobbers like a 1 year old cutting teeth sometimes. It's odd, sometimes I can run it an hour or so and get no slobber. I noticed the other day my dad ran it and there was some slobber. I'm thinking he probably was babying it, running low RP...

What is the larger tube sticking out the underneath of the machine. I assume the small one is from the air box vent.
Are you running the original electric oil pressure gauge for a diesel. They're impossible to find.

You may have drawn dirt into an injector and the injector isn't spraying a nice mist. Or there's a lot of dirt in the filter since you ran it out and you aren't getting enough flow.
