Re: 450C near death accident

Thank you for sharing your story, it hit home with me because I've done this on my 350C. Went to jump off and had something grab the shifter and she starts rolling, luckily its always been at low idle so its never jumped very fast. I always try to be extra careful but sometimes when you are in the m...

Re: 350 Stuck Left Steering Clutch

Thank you for the replies, I might just run it for a bit and see if it lets loose. I will be taking this machine apart this winter for parts so I don't think ill spend the time to repair the stuck clutch. I was just hoping for a quick DIY fix so I could spend a few hours playing on the machine. Thanks

350 Stuck Left Steering Clutch

Hello I have a early model 350 dozer, it goes forward and reverse just fine and the right steering works great and when you pull and release the right stick it springs back to where it should just fine. The left steering is a different story... When you pull the left stick all the way back it will b...

Is there a way to adjust the break on my 350C, when you push on the pedal it has no affect on the machine at all. Not sure if the break band is toast or if it can be adjusted.

Thanks

That is a good point, and it will be so nice to have the loader portion as well. I think I will try harder to make a go of it.

I do not know the size, however you would think it would be a pretty standard fitting you could get at your local auto parts store or John Deere dealer. Any specific reason you don't want to remove the old ones? I wouldn't worry about not being able to replace them once removed.

Thanks for the reply Jason,

Maybe I will wait to pursue attaching the backhoe to the dozer, I don't want to add any unnecessary stress to this machine. I will mess with the backhoe and see if I can get it going this fall. If not then I will look at plan B.

Thank you for sharing the info on the tracks, I will definitely read them both :D I have a Case 320 backhoe loader that also came with the cabin, cant get it running ( have not tried all that hard yet) but was thinking of mounting the backhoe to the dozer. Would have to build my own mount and what n...

She loved it! jtrichard, I was wondering about how loose or tight to run those tracks, and it would actua...

Update:

It has been awhile since I've posted, but I wanted to give an update on the status of my dozer for anyone who is interested. I have since replaced the left side track adjuster, had to replace the right side sprocket (started skipping on me) replaced a bunch of the track pads ( Thanks to Jason). Went...

Jason, That is a great idea on having a machinist build the square drive gear and hub, I will keep the parts and keep that in mind. I am not using the dozer any more until I get the correct track adjuster on it and the track tight. My original plan once I figured out the adjuster was busted was only...

Thank you guys, it does make this project even more special to hear comments like that from others. I agree if this old girl could talk..... what would she say? I have 20 acres at my cabin and just walking around and seeing the land scape and places where you can see where the dozer has been many ye...

Thank you Sir! It has been a fun and interesting project and there is still more to come on this. It has been difficult due to it being so far off the grid, all the planning, research and understanding that I need prior to flying out or making the long boat ride to insure I have what I will need whe...
