On my 450 the PTO lever is by your right foot, sticks up thru the floor board with a little lever. Mine has a hole even though I do not have a PTO or the lever for it.

On a 450c, the all thread is only used to install the spring , it comes out after that.

I've crunched the numbers, the spring compression rate x 4inches vs the tensile strength of the all thread and it should hold to get it in.

That's very close to a design that I was thinking about building.

Can you explain in a little more detail why the grapple will not open if the bucket is rolled back? It seems to be they should be independent functions.
