On my 450 the PTO lever is by your right foot, sticks up thru the floor board with a little lever. Mine has a hole even though I do not have a PTO or the lever for it.
Looking at the John Deere Parts site it appears to me the 350 is the same way.

I cant offer anymore than the good suggestions you've already had but I will offer a story of something that happened to me. I drove my truck home from work all seemed fine. Went to start it the next day and all it would do would crank. I worked on based on the idea that it had to be something simpl...

Well for future reference for anyone that searches here is my recoil spring replacement story. First off I bleed the adjuster off and pried the idle wheel as far forward as it could go, hoping this would be enough room to work. More on this later. I then proceeded to simply pry the broke pieces of m...

450c Recoil spring
I'm neck deep in replacing the recoil springs on my 450c. I have it all tore down, I've cleaned the threads up in the back coil spring plate with a tap. I've made an offset tool so the front head of my all thread is in the same spot as the pictures in my manual. Here is my problem, I've compressed t...

I've read a lot of stories of broken final drives that had water in them freeze up. I would absolutely get that "unfrozen", I'd try and tarp the machine, toss a heater under it and get it thawed out where it will run. Then I'd operate the machine for 20 or 30 minutes to get it all warmed up good the...

FYI you guys were right on track ( what a pun....). I went out this weekend and looked at my springs very closely. The one you see in the picture is the good one....it's only broke in 2 places. The other one is broke in 5 places, it's amazing it works at all. I used it about an hour being extra care...

I called a 2nd JD dealer and he agrees with me and the first dealer. I should just be able to buy the single bigger spring from the later model serial numbers and slide it in. He thinks the tube is merely a safety tube for if the spring breaks it can't fly out. I'm going to try a replacement and see...

You just need a Transmission and Hydraulic Oil that meets the spec's listed in the books. Most any farm supply store (cheapest), auto parts ( more) or JD themselves (most) will have it. Just look on the back and make sure it meets the specs of either J14C, and or J20A. The oil I purchased at my loca...

I can only speak for my little 450c but I can barely get it up to temp in this cold weather. IMHO if you are in the red at all in the winter you will have trouble in the summer. My thermostat was about ten bucks from JD ,if it were my money I'd replace it. That's just my opinion and I'm pretty new t...

Upon doing more research I'm still a little confused and I called JD and while they did agree with me they did not instil much confidence. It appears if you have serial number less than 222447 stock was two springs T32048 & T20872 Serial numbers after that had a single spring of T106882 and a "tube"...

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try and get a good look at those springs next time I'm out there. There is an inner spring on the 450'c as well. Looking on a few sites that sell after market parts most only show the outter spring, is the inner harder to get? Looking at the part numbers it appears t...
