Thanks for the replies. I went out this morning and was able to get the track back on in about 45 mins. I picked up the front with the loader bucket and jacked up the back with a 8 ton bottle jack. I had the whole right side about 4 inches off the ground. I then was able to use a come a long hooked ...

I was driving and hard a loud pop from the right side and the track was off. It didnt seem very loose to me but I had not actually ran the track me...

I think I'll just reuse these steel discs. I don't know where I would get them blasted, but maybe going over them with an emery pad will do the trick? Just a suggestion but in my little town the shops that do monuments and other types of stone work will do sand/media blasting. I have a little cabin...

It's not a weep hole, at least I don't think. Let me try another way of putting it. From the back of the crawler going forward you have in order: Head>Gasket>Water pump back plate>Gasket>Water pump The hole is in the head, in the gasket and then stops. I realize some parts fit many machines but it s...

Update II: I may have another issue now. When I removed the water pump backing / upper radiator support plate I noticed beside the main water port there was a small 1/8" hole that also bleed out coolant. When I was cleaning up the water pump parts there is a hole in the gasket for this small hole bu...

Update: After still struggling to figure this out, I removed the radiator. My plan was to really clean the front of the engine and run it with the fan off and see if I could find where my water leak was coming from. I noticed an odd big flat washer on one of the water pump bolts during clean up. I r...

On my 450c it is on the right side of the transmission in the top of the cap that you remove to clean the screen. If you look thru the track you can see the bottom two bolts of the cap, it's about 5" or so in diameter. I had to take the top bolt out from under the machine with a wrench and then I co...

I just got done asking these same type of questions on a 450c, you might find some of your answers in here: http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=6712 Right now I have over sized washers holding mine solid. In the spring I plan on welding in either the old bushing or a new one I mac...

I'll certainly check that but don't you think I would notice water missing if it were coolant? I recently changed all the hoses and had the radiator repaired because it had fan damage done to it in the past. I would think when that happened the water pump was replaced or rebuilt. Thanks for the idea...

Mystery fluid
I was finishing up some service work on my little 450c this weekend and I noticed a fluid leaking from near the front of the head. Basically behind the bracket that holds the radiator top mount and water pump area.I wiped it off and it smelled like diesel fuel. I got to looking close and noticed I h...

I managed to get all 8 of the cross member to track frame bolts loose with a little heat and an impact. The inner bolts are all intact and I just left them alone at this point. That said the frame is worn quite a bit. For right now I've put over sized 3/4" flat washers with the 5/8" regular washer t...
