If you turn the sprockets around, and move the track frames in, then you have a 36" or 38" treadwidth. I have had 2-420's and a 430 like this in the past.

I was, first I though there were 4 rollers missing, then I noticed no upper idler and figured out that is is a 4 roller, not 5.

That is a rare one, it is a 3 roller 1010.

Metal noise could be water pump, trying wiggling the fan blades with the belts loose and see if there is any play.
Could be clutch or reverser slipping. IF it is that bad, you are not doing it any good even in first gear, better find out what the problem is before any damage is done.

I should have most of the parts you sent me ? about on hand. Check your governor weights, they should not have enough slop to touch the gear washer or no washer I am guessing.
