Yes it does look like your rails were cut. On the two cylinder crawlers with 4 rollers, the long track frame for sprocket shields was an option. I don't believe this is the case on the 1010. Cutting the rails is the lazy man's way of doing it, the final does not need to be rotated that much to get i...

If you have a chance, take a look. We put a winch on the back of my brothers 420, but without the fairlead, you have to be careful that the cable does not jump up over the side of the winch. When it does, it really chews up the winch body. I have two winches here that people have done that too, and ...

If you turn the sprockets around, and move the track frames in, then you have a 36" or 38" treadwidth. I have had 2-420's and a 430 like this in the past.

Look at the bright side, if it drives you to drink, you don't have to drive home.

In terms of parts, the 2010 and 1010 are a little poorer on parts availability at least from Deere. The 440 is better, but as the years go on, that will decline as well. 440 uses a Detroit diesel, so parts can darn near be bought at Wal-mart, 1010/2010 are largely a Deere only deal especially the di...

Metal noise could be water pump, trying wiggling the fan blades with the belts loose and see if there is any play.
Could be clutch or reverser slipping. IF it is that bad, you are not doing it any good even in first gear, better find out what the problem is before any damage is done.

Gary,
Your spam blocker must be knocking out my e-mails, I have gotten at least 3 back undelivered.
I should have most of the parts you sent me ? about on hand. Check your governor weights, they should not have enough slop to touch the gear washer or no washer I am guessing.

If you have a reverer, there is no clutch, and it is the isolator that has gone to pot.
