Re: JD350 thru JD350D Serial Numbers
Hi, I also think the tag is just mis-stamped. There was no definition for what C means as the second letter. B is a loader. So 350BC doesn't tell us what we have here. 350CB does. That old thought about oddball B series with wet steering clutches comes from an overlap is the serial number data. I do...

Re: 350b pre cleaner
Hi,
Nothing goes inside it. A pre cleaner is a curved path for the air to follow which results in larger, heavier, stuff getting stuck in the bowl. That lets the main filter element have a longer service life.

Re: 450C fluid changes
Hi,
Ok. There was that change along the way.
My post is correct if one has the older rollers on a C model as does my 350C.

Hi,
Well, track and.roller lube is NLA. So Corn Head grease is what you need to use. And get a Low Pressure gun, not a normal one or you won't have any seals left to worry about.

Re: 1010 fan belt replacement?
Hi,
Accu-Link belts work just fine. I have used them on machine tools, such as lathes, were the power transmitted is a lot higher than to run a water pump and a generator. They aren't cheap though.

Re: Need photo of 1010c transmission drain plug location
Hi,
The 'fun' with any model is Deere always makes running changes. And, they are usually called out by serial number breaks shown in the Parts Catalog.
I have seen drain plugs with different styles in different locations on many models.

Re: jd420 pics
Hi,
If it had a differential, both tracks would still move. Just one would move forward and the other backwards when you moved one manually.
When you steered, with brake only and no steering clutch, one track stops and the other speeds up. Disconcerting. I had a Terratrac like that.

Hi,
Well, there is the Accu-Link belt scheme. I have used those many times in situations such as this. Harbor Freight carries them, of all places.....

Re: jd420 pics
Hi, Well, the 420 didn't have a stock reverser. That was an option. Looks like your original owner didn't opt for one. So, you have just the regular center frame. And the long propeller shaft. Unless you have a reverser frame someone gutted and put in the long propeller shaft. That's pretty common, ...

Re: JD350 Loader Radiator remove/replace
Hi,
Down at the bottom. Remove one on each side and it tilts forward. You can then pull the radiator. Worked that way on my straight 350. I never needed to do a radiator on the 350C (so I hope they didn't change how it works).

Hi,
True. All the crawlers begin assembly at the transmission. Have troubles there, everything else has to come off first.

Re: Batteries
Hi, I buy Exide or Gould. The ones at the Deere dealer are made by one or the other, but I can't recall which this morning..... Most auto parts store batteries aren't constructed to take the vibration. Cars and trucks having suspensions. I just buy from Deere. They always have the right group, they ...

Re: New Shirt
Hi, We have a shirt printing business. What happens is you get to sell some for a while. Once the copyright owner notices you, you get a very nice Cease and Desist letter. And then you very nicely comply and that is that. If you don't, well then you make the lawyer who sent the letter very happy. Th...
