Re: Why does my model number not exist?

Welcome to the Board. Your 550 is not a D series, they didn't make a D. The ID numbering system JD uses can, and has, caused confusion before. In the case of your machine the D identifies the blade type, which is a 6410 blade. The model number followed by a blank space before the letter is for machi...

Re: 450c oil pressure falls to 5psi at hot idle

No oil passage direct from pump to the block to seal. Metal to metal where the pump mounts to the engine front plate. Pump body sections are metal to metal. The oil pickup tube and the oil outlet tubes have O-rings on them where they go into the oil pump body. Unless you only want genuine JD parts; ...

Re: JD Track Loader

Welcome to the board. The serial number you posted is just for the loader attachment. There is no list, at least published to the public to relate that number to a year. From the JD 350 parts catalog here is the info on the locations of the crawler and engine serial numbers. "THE BASIC CRAWLER TRACT...

Re: JD350C clutch seals? (Thrust Washers - Solved)

Interesting, those thrust washers don't show up in the on line parts catalog. Couldn't get either the old part number or the new one to come up for a 350 of any series in the on line catalogs. Edit to correct info above: As CatD8RII pointed out in a post below, the washers are listed under the beari...

Re: Hydraulic blade lift

With that info it may have been there was air in the system as Buckhorn posted, or the valve spool didn't quite center. Likely best to run it some and see how it does.

Re: Idler wheel axle

If you just deformed/rolled the very outer ends of the bushings, they might be salvaged by filing away any ridge there. May not be ideal but it can work. If no ridge, the bushings and shaft should be measured. If there is no clearance they may need fitting by a machine shop, unless you have provisio...

Re: Idler wheel axle

No press to install the shaft, the bushings are too tight, the shaft is held on the ends and the idler turns on the shaft, that's why it has bushings. Did the bushings get damaged installing them? It happens, especially if driven in.

Re: Hydraulic blade lift

Often just repacking the cylinders takes care of that. Just have to determine the model of your blade and the cylinders on it. I think there were some changes in types of cylinders during the 440IC years. Lavoy will likely have, or be able to get, packings for you once the cylinder is identified.

I read them. I check in about every day and see what's new on all the Boards. I don't log in and post unless I think I can add something.

I would suggest letting the machine shop you have recondition the crank, get the bearings and to keep any related issues in their court.

Re: 450 Oil Dip stick?

kens68charger Engine oil? Dipstick is about 3" to the rear of the oil filter on the right side of the engine. That should be the location up through the C series. The D and E series you will find the dipstick under the small door in the hood. I haven't checked the series after the E. If you are aski...

Re: Dry in the head

I don't have a 2 cylinder to look at anymore, but if I remember right there was a about a 1/4" line from of the block, kind of behind the filter, to the back of the head. Likely went in the hole you plugged. Some should be along to say for certain.

Re: Steering on a 350c

Call or email Lavoy. I believe he can get you the right manuals. TM1115 is the part number for the 350C Technical Manual and OMT79469 is the latest Operator's manual. There were other Operator Manual numbers as you will find in the list posted on the FAQ Board. http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard...

Re: Steering on a 350c

If it is pulling in reverse ok it wouldn't be the reverser. The way I read your description was in error. When you said it would pivot if centered on a high point, and sometimes not at all, I took it as the crawler stopped moving when the tracks in full contact. Sorry, My error.
