Re: 350 B Track

That price is per side not for a pair! I priced pads, chain, sprocket ring and nuts/bolts about a month ago and the cheapest I could find for a straight 350 was 1638.32 a side.

There’s nothing better than having a winch and drawbar! You never know when one or the other would be needed!!!!

Nice looking 350c stan. There nothing better than a dozer with new paint and straight sheet metal on it!

Re: 6 volt change to 12 volt

I believe this is the part number I installed on my 420. http://www.jegs.com/i/Pertronix/751/1123/10002/-1

The pertonix part number is 1123 for a negative ground system. It’s been running perfect for years on my 420.

Re: Hydraulic line 420

Ahh I misspoke. I had to go up in the barn to look where I placed my spin on filter and it wasn’t on the suction side of the pump. It was on the return line to the tank. Whoops!

Re: Hydraulic line 420

Also if you install a new metal suction line it is a great place to install a spin on oil filter for the hydraulic system!

Re: how to paint a crawler

When I painted my 420 years ago I removed the tracks by putting the crawler in wooded cribbing. Masked off the square tubing that the undercarriage mounts to and spray it yellow!

Re: 40 c hydraulic valve

VERY IMPORTANT! if you change the valve you have to set the factory relief pressure to around 950 psi. Most new valves have a minimum relief pressure of 1500. And if you set it at that pressure you will destroy the pump. Most likely you will have to buy a lower pressure relief valve and plumb it in ...

Re: Nice knowing you-all!

Hey Stan! I wish you and yours the best thru the storm. There’s a lot of prayers being said for all of those in it’s path. I liked you comment about Johnstown, PA especially since I live on the outskirts of “flood city”. We actually had 3 floods, 1936, 1977 and 1889. I don’t remember much of the 77 ...

Re: 8a gearmatic winch drum removal

If I remember correctly those 2 bolt are used to connect something onto it to help pull the drum out. I remember making a bracket of some sort to connect to a large slide hammer that didn’t work too well.

Re: Digging deaper into my Gearmatic 8a winch

Hey Paul, I think I removed that bearing by using some heat with a rosebud tipped torch on the inner race of the bearing, then used a wide flat pointed chisel punch and a BFHammer between the bearing and the end plate to remove it. I do somewhat remember that the bearing only had to move like a inch...

Re: Digging deaper into my Gearmatic 8a winch

Yes Paul I agree with lavoy 100%. Now is the time to do it, I would even remove the winch from your Deere and replace the bearings on the input shaft in the winch. Super simple bearings to replace and they were cheap!
