Well at least it sounds like I don't have to tear the final back apart now. Stan, I think you are right about power steering assist now fluctuating pressure somehow. I will start looking in that direction now and see what I find. Thanks for all the help and assistance.

Thanks for all the advice and help on my problem. This crawler is a 73 with a straight blade, winch and so assume it is called a reverse. I tried pushing the clutch in today and pulling lever to see if vibration was still there and it was. Does the shaft always turn coming from the transmission whether the foot clutch is engaged or disengaged.

Thanks Lavoy, pm me on prices, is the pinion shaft you are talking about the shaft that goes into the tranny or behind the the small cover on the final drive housing.

Are they under the cap with the three screws. Would they still cause vibration while stopped in neutral and pulling brake lever back.

Can they be replaced without taking the final apart again.

Finally got it back together and adjusted everything. The right side which is the brake band I replaced, has a vibration when I pull the lever back. It had a vibration right before the band broke also. It steers like it is supposed too now. I left the covers off while testing and the ball joints are...

I got the band on and started around the drum but I can't get it to go in. It is about 2 inches away. Is there a trick to get it in or am I doing something wrong.

After inspecting everything I noticed 1 of the return clips was on and one had fell off and one is missing. Deere doesn't have them available anymore. How important are these and does anyone have some extra ones available.

Got it torn down today and I think it looks pretty good in my opinion except for brake band being broke. Would post pics to get the experts opinions but can't figure out how to post them.
