Re: 450B problem

Also does it matter if the timing marks are aligned perfectly. With the tdc pin in it was a shade off. Is it better to remove the pin and adjust timing Mark's up before removing or just leave the pin in and remove with it being a shade off. Is it best to get the seals from deere or somewhere else. D...

Re: 450B problem

Thanks 77 Ford, very helpful information. Do you put the zip tie on normal or backwards so you can slip it back off without having to cut it.

Re: 450B problem

Thanks for the in put. Got the pump off today. Got it top dead center and put the pin in the flywheel, the timing Mark's where a shade off, not sure if that was normal. Anyone know of any tricks to get it slid back on over the rubber seals without a special tool.

Re: 450B problem

Got it back together today and started the break in procedure so I can go back and retorque head bolts and adjust valves again. Pushed dirt back and forth for 30 to 40 minutes, ran great the whole time. But at the end it started running rough like a fuel problem. RPMs would bounce up and down. Where...

Re: JD 350b final drive drain plug question

I personally have mine removed and also keeps small tarp over the seat and tanks to keep water from getting in the access plates. Seems to help for me. Mine doesn't see any water either.

Re: 450B problem

Wanted to give an update. Started the dozer up a week ago and started putting out antifreeze again. I pulled the head and gasket was blown on number 4. Luckily it never got in the oil. Head had a slight warp on that end. Had it machined and put new valves in it. Hope to get it back together this wee...

Re: 350B dozer no power

I got everything I needed from Lavoy. I thought the prices where good and has good products. Dont order cheap from ebay, they wont last a week. You will have to get the tool to set the finger heigth from him too if you dont have one. Get in touch with Lavoy and let him price what you need.

Re: 450 E

Thanks for the advice. Went and looked at it today. He had put a six way blade on it. Had 18 inch pads which he cut 2 inches off on the inside cause they where close to the cylinders. Rails and sprockets where both wore out and one top roller too. Ran and steered really good. He only come down a cou...

Re: 450 E

Thanks Jim, I will ask if he has the manual's. He said it needed pins and bushings. What is the average cost of having those put in. That will help me decide on the price I'm willing to pay.

Where are the serial numbers located at on these dozers. Only has a stock number. Going to look at one to purchase this weekend. Wanted to know what to look for on this style. Pictures I got looks like a pretty nice machine. Man is retiring and selling all his equipment. What are these machines sell...
