Re: 400G PTO shaft dilemma. ....
I went back and re-read your post. Looks like I should have read it closer the first time as you have already been in the parts box. Before you start the search, raise the back of your crawler about 12” and pop the cover off so you can see what your crawler has and what you will need. By raising the...

Re: 400G PTO shaft dilemma. ....
Good evening, Paul First off you don’t need a PTO, but you will need a winch drive. Google “Deere parts” and scroll down to select “JD Parts Catalog John Deere jdpc” website. Open that website. Put “400G” in the search box. Hit search. Select “2209”. Scroll down to the sectional index table and open...

Re: jd440ic cam pump
If the bearing surfaces and the rest of the castings are okay, the faces can be machined. May moons ago I rebuilt my 420 cam pump. New bearings and new gears at the time. Bolted everything together and you could not turn the pump. I had the faces machined and it worked perfect. ~1988. Best regards B...

I would contact SEWL, Schaefer Enterprises of Wulf Lake. Tall order and a long shot, but worth a try. Bruce

Re: Water in oil
Good job. It is always nice to hear/see a good machine brought back to serviceable condition. Are you using an anti-cavitation additive or did you use the life time coolants that have the additive in them already? Bruce

Re: rebuilding 350B final and reusing pressure plate
Good morning, First off, I am not terrible familiar with the 350's. I thought there was a special tool to set the height of the pressure plate contacts for the throw-out bearing. I think this would be a very important step, since you are changing the height of the clutch pack with new clutches. Bruce

Re: 450B transmission
Proper adjustment and removing as much slop in the pin/clevises are where I would start. I agree with Lavoy, the proper owners manual, parts manual and the service manual are a must.

Re: JD 450C final drive sprocket bearings
You should not have to jack the crawler. Locate the track master pin and position the pin at approximately the 9-10 position. You will have to split the track, remove the sprocket. You can make a special hanger, pictured in the tech manual, to lift and pull the final drive off. Best regards, Bruce

Stan's trailing attachment comment is simply a different way to describe or explain a pull-type piece of equipment using the drawbar, drawbar pin and implement tongue/trailing attachment.

Re: reverser oil flow question
Sounds like you have found your problem or a least some parts of your problem. Vermin have definitely been busy. One can only guess how they got the acorn in the system, maybe the system had been open at one time? I have had personal friends tell me about nuts, seeds and nesting inside a cooling sys...
