Yes I have a 1988 John Deere 350D. It has been a long time since I was in diesel tech school, but the wet stacking example we were giving was the city of Bangor using a dozer to pull a sidewalk paver at idle that wet stacked. Mine was hardly at idle, but being the miser that I am, in the interest of...

I should say so!! Katie likes her shoes that is for sure. I went around the house and counted up the number of pairs she had which was something like 50 at the time, but she has bought more since. (A pair less than a week ago). But having a house full of girls the entire number of shoes was 94...wit...

Wetstacking
Not a very good description I know, but after getting my idler back on and kind of working the dozer hard making some new ditches, the engine started to make a helicopter like sound. It goes away at low idle, but also goes away when at high idle, but no load on the engine. But full throttle pushing ...

It has gotta be hard to get around in the woods with a set of heels like that. Bryce You know it was, so much that half way through she had to switch to her logging boots! :-) https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10401997_880101308670072_596081256952543753_n.jpg?oh=99d15da9e0f980b9b35d001f...

You know I was scammed too, but I did not want to admit it. But I had it much, much worse. Instead of having my wallet stolen, I ended up marrying the Little Red Riding Hood this ole logger helped save and now must forfeit my entire paycheck to her every week! Warning: Do NOT take this link if you h...

Thanks Lavoy, we did manage to get everything out today. Once we got past the track's master pin things progressed really fast. Now that I have been underneath of it for a day or two, I see some areas that need attention. The blades wear points being some of them, but a lot of that is weldable stuff...

Thanks guys! Being a farmer its been hard because there was so many things him and I discussed, and so many things undone, or so many thing happening on my farm that I cannot share it with. When your best friend is gone, you miss him, BUT life goes on. I have it a lot better then his wife, son and d...

I found the master pin. It was marked by a ridge around the perimeter of the pin in an odd way. It is hard to describe, but basically it just looked different then the others, but barely. Now to get it out. I foresee a lot of pounding in the near future. Do you guys leave the track pads on, or remov...

I am thinking I might have to talk to the previous owner who put the track together after rebuilding everything. He said something about having a hard time lining up the pin, and nothing about bolting the track pad together to hold it, BUT this is coming third hand; my father is really good friends ...

Powerwashed the right side tracks impeccably and absolutely no dimple. I even moved the machine ahead and back checking off pins with chalk as I went. The only thing I remotely see was on one pin some ever so slight concentric circles...like the rings on a tree, but it is ever so slight. I would thi...

Just did a lot of checking and still see no dimple. I'll keep looking. :-( I did find out it is an aftermarket tracked called VTrack (Valuepart) which says on their website they have two piece links, but I am not sure if they mean EVERY track chain they produce has two piece links or just certain mo...

I have a stupid question, well many of them actually. I have a John Deere manual for this crawler and it shows it has a master link, yet I cannot find one anywhere. I know this has brand new aftermarket tracks so is it possible there is not a master link per se for these particular set of tracks? To...

Maybe you are THE ONE! :-) Everyone and his brother keeps telling me there is a John Deere bulldozer scrap yard somewhere in Vermont with tons of John Deere parts. This obvious appeals to me because we have a house in New Hampshire not far from the Vermont border. (Lisbon New Hampshire). In fact my ...
