Re: 450C fluid changes

Good morning Stan, In this case I am going to have to respectfully disagree with your post. Here is where the correct manual comes into play. These rolls are different as far as lube instructions than the earlier ones, like the 350C. If the lube was checked properly, in 450C rolls similar to the one...

Re: 450C fluid changes

If the site is accessible from your location (New Zealand?) this page from McMaster-Carr (a large supply house in the USA) has a good bit of info on all grease fittings and gun attachments which may help you find what you need. Head diameter is needed to get the proper adapter or gun tip. https://ww...

Re: drive shaft in steering clutch and brake assembly 450ca

If the inner shaft (mates into the differential gear) pulled out, I think Leonard is right in that you may need to pull the cover off the steering clutch housing so you can access the clutch and brake. They may need to be lifted or otherwise moved to free that shaft to line up with the differential ...

Re: 1010 fan belt replacement?

I would get the correct belt and replace it. You should not need to do it again for years if the correct belt is installed and the pulleys are in good condition. The parts catalog shows T12530T for serial numbers 10001 to 21900 and T626T for serial number 21901 and after. I find Gates # 7440 for the...

Re: JD 455D - New to Me and questions

Welcome to the Boards. Yes, on John Deere Hy Gard for everything except the engine. J20A was the spec for Hy Gard when your 455 manual was published, the current spec to look for, if you are going to get a generic equivalent to Hy Gard, is J20C. It is backward compatible to the previously recommende...

Re: 450C fluid changes

450C J 271126T should be a 1977 machine by the serial number. The J means it is (or left the factory) as a drawbar machine, no blade or loader. I am thinking your 450C has a common sump, at least I think they were by then. Some of the earlier ones were not common sump but were converted using a serv...

Re: Non running JD straight 350

To add to what LeonardL said about undercarriage. Looks don't mean a lot in setting wear percentage. An undercarriage can look good and actually be over 100% worn out when measured. JMHO

Re: MC grinding noise

Welcome to the Boards, bbart. Did you ask the question, or are you looking for an answer to where Ralph asked that? It was kind of buried in Ralph's post and appears it was overlooked in previous replies. Either way, you need a button head grease coupler to use with your grease gun. Track rollers an...

To post pictures you need to use a third-party hosting site, like Imgur or Postimages. Your picture needs to be uploaded to the hosting site, then its url needs to be pasted between the brackets of the two img that appear in the text box when you click on the picture icon above the text box.

Re: JD450 thru JD450G Serial Numbers

Welcome to the Boards. Your question should be on the Late Models Board as it is not a serial number question. Don't be surprised if it gets moved to that board by a moderator. Is there a tag on your loader? It should breathed as a model 7450 loader, if it is original. The loader parts catalogs are ...

Look at section 15 Equipment Attaching, the drawbar page. I believe you are looking for the crossbar and it's mounts used with the regular drawbar for a crawler without a winch.

Re: 400G

Best I can say is look up the part numbers and use the part search function on the JD Parts web site to see what other models might have used the same parts. Then it is start searching the web and salvage yards using the part numbers, same as for the radiator shroud you were looking for. If you have...

Re: Monitor AT10073 12v

Do you have the two technical manuals for the 650G? TM1403 Operation and tests technical manual and the TM1404 Repair technical manual are the two required. If it is not working, it could be as simple as a power supply or ground issue. The TM1403 should have wiring diagrams and info on operation and...

Re: 450B loose track pin

Driving one link back in is one thing, changing a couple links is another. If you are considering changing a couple links, you should check around for a shop with a portable "C" press set up for track pin work in the field. A dealer may be able to get individual links that will match yours, no guara...
