MC could have been MC1000 tool carrier, and MC60. #61 will fit, but way too front heavy.
40 was #'s 1000, & 1100 tool carrier, MC60, #61, #62 will fit, as well as 602, but real heavy for a 40.
420 and 430 were #61, #62, and 602
440 was #63, #64, and 602

#63 came on the 440, I can't remember what it is called on a 1010.
The mounting brackets are designed for a round front crossbar on front, and bolt to a heavy casting on the rear, neither of which is on a 420. It could be done, but will take a fair amount of torch and welder work.

If it has been modified, it will fit 40-430, it was designed to fit the 1010 ag, but would fit 1010 industrial and 440.

I use the industrial for prior to 1982 or whatever it is. Old Cat yellow may be close, but it is I think more yellow than the Deere industrial yellow.

Dan,
I may have an engine coming in, give me a call or e-mail if you want to go that way.
Gaskets are no problem, I usually keep a set on hand.

No, the heater you are referring to is most like to fit ONLY the Waterloo built two cylinder tractors. There was never a factory listing for a block heater for the Dubuqe built two cylinder engines. Most likely you will see them with a tank heater or hose heater, but hose heaters do not work on them...

The gas will not have the torque of the diesel. Additionally, you will need a lot more than just an engine, you may need radiator, most likely will need a different exhaust manifold, hood, fuel lines, throttle linkage, and a few other things that I can not think of right now. It is not a simple thro...

Block heater for a 2-53 is a spefic item. I would check with a local Detroit dealer, or at least a good parts house. The one you are referring to I would guess is the drain plug heater for the horizontal two cylinder tractors only. As for fuel blends, up here most of the stations go to 50/50 at leas...

The quill will come out with the clutch housing on, but will not like it. The tolerance is not very big between the quill and the clutch housing, so dirt gets in there, and kind of rusts it togehter. If you have the back cover off, you can hit on the inside of the quill a little bit, and that will u...

Only thing I could suggest is to check with Sterwart Warner, they may have a replacement gauge that will work.

The engine clutch should have about 1-2" of freeplay, if that does not solve the problem, you will need to split it and see what is wrong.
Get a service manual and a parts manual, the owners manuals are close to useless if you have any work to do on these things.

If it is on Lindeman, MC, or 3 roller 40, it is likely the 7/8", if 420 or later, then 5/8".

Not sure who you would get it through, but check with a local diesel shop, they may know. The other thing is, if you asked the parts guys, they probably would not know. Go talk to the service manager, things like that are ordered through "service tools", not necessarily directly through the parts de...

The pressure line from the pump to the valve is still a good number, and not that pricey.
If I was you, I would have the dealer drop ship the part to your door. If he is charging you machine down freight anyway, it just as well come straight to your door.
