Re: 40C not turning to the left - fiber clutch thickness
Pauly68, OK so It sounds to me like the major problem was simply proper adjustment of the LEFT Brake period.... now that you already have it apart...what does that brake band actually look like insofar as ..condition?...new is roughly about 1/4 inch thick...and cost is between 200-300...as far as th...

Re: 40C not turning to the left - fiber clutch thickness
Pauly68, Well i certainly do need a little more information in regards to which side these clutches come from,??? If these are what is in the left side steering....they would be driving you to turn right.....in order to turn left your left brakes have to be working properly to lock that side and ena...

Re: JD 440IC Steering Clutch Adjustment
Hulld, Is your throwout bearing located to the point where the bolt and washer actually sets at the outer edge of the lip? if so and you are 1/4inch away from touching the fingers, then it may well be time to replace clutches/steels....make sure that the t/o is out as far as you can get and still ti...

Re: 440ic steering clutches
Hulld, Seems I do recall my handles moving back kinda by themselves when released. As far as left one moving differently i would say probably that return spring got weakened over time....as it seems for some reason everyone uses that left brake more than the right one???? make note for future to rep...

Re: 420c carb & roller grease questions
Fallon, Just a side note..my 420 c loader...has button head zerks on both sides of each track...i have found that only 1 side is supposedly the grease entry...??? i checked by taking zerk out greasing and sticking rod into it to see if grease only...met solid metal obstruction in that outside point....

Re: jd420 pics

Re: 440ic steering clutches
After you get chance to run it a spell and get feel of it.....you will know when it needs adjustment again....at least adjustments do not "cost"...just your time and efforts...while it is up in air run it awhile and operate the steering on both sides to get familiar with feel....this may take severa...
