Re: Anyone remove a track chain link on a 450b?

Keep running it until the idler is all the way to the front of the track chain. Keep your tracks tight. If you shorten the rod you will be short if the machine gets new rails at some point in time. Rails will be at 100% wear, however you can get some more hours out of them by removing a link. If the...

Re: 450B throw out bearing return spring

I don’t think it would be possible thru the adjustment hole, only option to do it right is to pull the engine. You can however put an external spring to the clutch pedal itself. We have had to do this in a pinch, one of our yard loaders has been fixed this way for 10 years without issue.

Trek Brand. We have been using it for 15+ years. Rails held up great on our widepad 350’s. Never had any issues with their rollers or sprockets.

Re: 555 Transmission Pressure

I went thru a problem on one this past summer. The problem I had was marginal oil pressure but functioning well just slow shifts. We were lucky enough to have one that was slightly burnt at the back. We were wrecking the machine so removed the loader and fuel & oil tank and got it running and moving...

Re: New Owner, in desperate need of guidance!

My concern is that your reverser bearings are bad. Is it leaking much oil between the engine and reverser?

Re: 1958 420 Battery

Hold the pedal down, fold the lid down and pull your battery out. Not a great design, battery placement did not improve until the 1010 / 2010 series. Try a 420 loader..

Re: 450B track loader valve plumbing

Your machine has a power beyond valve that supplies high pressure oil to the hoe and then returns it to the tank. The supply and return lines must remained hooked together or will blow up your pump. If you want to remove the lines you will need to remove the power beyond fitting on the valve and ins...

Re: Dozer purchase JD Dozer comparison/info

I’m a real fan of the G series Crawlers now that I’ve put some seat time on a 650G narrow pad with 5500 original hours. The extra weight and power over a 450C wide pad and 450G narrow pad we used previously is impressive. I’m cleaning up some deadfall / wind blow downs on 20 acres in conjunction wit...

Re: 450C hydraulic pump not turning

Your drive coupler is stripped. Pull your hard nose so you can check if your pump is spinning freely and if so replace the coupler. Will fit off your parts 350. Your pump should be the small / low volume one which is not very common. I believe there are 2-3 pump sizes available. We have lots of the ...

Re: Model/part # for the extend-a-hoe?

The hoe on the 450C is not a 9550, it is a predessor model with a single swing cylinder. Just got one in in pieces and now have it operational on a straight 450 loader. You could put in a diverted valve on one of the stabilizer functions for use on the extendahoe. The extendahoe is going to be very ...

Can you post some pics of how your winch is mounted. I would have figured the deere winch would have been on the light side for a D3.

Re: 450C loader losing hydraulic power

The filter behind the front grill is for the transmission. Do you have a whining sound, which could be the couplers between the Backhoe and the crawler? Try unplugging and reconnecting. Try running without the Hoe and see if the problem persists. As it’s both the Backhoe and loader should not be the...

Re: How crazy an idea is...

Yes it’s a track pin press. Cylinder is about 10 inches in diameter with a 10 stroke. Has line up rings on both sides to accept heavy duty 1 inch rod with a backer plate that fits behind the link and attached with nuts front and rear. Will fit thru 350 and 450 links otherwise need to use it in the v...
