Re: 450C Seat Cushions
That looks like a generic replacement for maybe a lawnmower. I think that seat would be very uncomfortable. I believe Lavoy offers seat and armrests.

Re: 350B Hydraulic Pump Shaft
You need to figure out out it twisted the pump shaft off as well or you will be doing that to the replacement as well.

Re: JD 550c transmission oil loss/transfer
A 450C does move/transfer oil to the finals and back to the main housing so my guess is that a 550C does the same thing. Your manual would explain all that.

Re: Fuel wont Bleed after Fuel Filter replacement
You say that you are cranking the motor over, doesn't your lift pump have a lever on it so you can hand pump the lift pump. Your next problem is going to be a starter at this rate.

Generally your suppose to replace the cooper seal when it's been taken apart. I've go an old Ferguson with a 23C Diesel that I have to replace a lot of those cooper washers when I did a rebuild. Found the cooper seals on fleabay.

Re: 1977 JD 450c Loader has no power in reverse
You need to redo the clutch valve adjustment procedure correctly. If you seen 180 PSI you should not have to add anymore shims. Do yourself a favor and print off all the pertinent information that you need to do this adjustment procedure correctly, all the information has been provided in this post....

Re: 1977 JD 450c Loader has no power in reverse
Do not soften the shifts with the pressure adjustment You adjust the speed shift with the needle valve accessed through the side of the transmission, not by lower the clutch pressure. That pressure is needed to keep the clutches clamped up, no different than the automatic transmission in you car. I...

Re: 1977 JD 450c Loader has no power in reverse
Correct. My guess would be that the clutch pack seals are leaking, internally.Depending on if its a normal shift or fast shift, and the accumulator dumping, it always should return to high pressure and just vary in time.

Re: 1977 JD 450c Loader has no power in reverse
The clutch free play should be ~ 3-3/4" - 4" before the throwout bearing touches the clutch fingers. The penny is used to shim the relief, each one is good for about 10 - 12 lbs. You can go find the correct shims if you want, but most just leave the pennies in there, makes the value of the machine g...

Re: Low track power
Hi, No, they aren't the same. The 350 uses a hydraulic reverser without an engine clutch. The 450 uses the High/Low/Reverse transmission behind a standard engine clutch (which is suspect in this case). The machine is a Straight 450 so the steering clutches are dry disc with spring pressure plates. ...

Re: 450G starting issue
Have you changed/checked the filter? Mine is between the lift pump and inlet of IP. Loosen and/or remove line feeding IP, press handle on lift pump to make sure you have a good flow of fluid. Only other thing would be that the IP pump outlet pressure is low when it gets hot which would mean the head...
