Tried it out

This morning on a little project. The municipality took some dirt from my land and left the landscape off a portion of the road level with the road. I wanted a ditch so I went off about 15ft and made a trough then put one track up on each side and v-eed the ditch. I think it needs pins and bushing a...

Fixed

There I figured out posting pictures. The crawler is all there, everything seems to work. Some bads - it pops out of 3rd gear and the LH steering clutch is out of adjustment, possibly just the brake needs to be set up a bit. Lots of slop in the loader frame and bucket pins. Obviously not loader pads...

John Deere 350-B Crawler Loader

I have known about this machine for a few years. The fellow that owned it wanted me to buy it but unfortunately he passed away a couple of years ago. Anyway, last year I negotiated a bit with his wife to buy but nothing came of it. Its home now. It needs some work but it is the first crawler I ever ...

Be careful turning under load, even avoid it. All the torque of the push is being split between 2 finals. When you pull that steering clutch the torque goes to the other side. = broken finals = $$

Scott this is the one by St. Louis? He told me some story about him doing 20 hours worth of work around the yard and showed me a pile of old buildings but I figured he could have easily done that with his wheel loader in an hour or so. I figured something was up. I'm sure they hauled that thing out ...

Well Jason if he still has it I will buy it for you next week. :)

Even if I could find a dozen of these, 12 x 0 still equals 0

I'm just looking for a project, I've lived the dream of having a yard full of parts machines with no useable parts.

Parts

My first wife left just before I got out of the "parts" business last go around so I am going to try to avoid the same scene. :) Just trying to get back into my hobbies now.

The only way parts sell here is if they are bolted together and drive themselve on to someone's trailer.

Update

The wife and I went and looked at a 350 crawler loader on Sunday, only about 20 min from home. Guy's asking $2,500. Apparantly runs good but rad is missing. His story is that he was using it (ran and steered great) but the rad leaked so he took it out to "send it away" to get fixed. Whoever he sent ...

Wanted

Hello board:

I'm looking for a 1010 or 350 with a 6-way blade. I would also look at a 440 if it is complete.

I'm not sure if I could haul it but heck even a 450. Must have power 6-way.

Thanks

Brent

Ok, so everything went very well tonight, the 440 fired right up and I took one last drive around, maybe the last one for a while! I work at slow speed at the best of times, and you never know when work or romance or life will get in the way of working on the crawler. So anyway here is the 440 in it...

I have been checking in on the site quite frequently, just keeping incognito, but have been following along with everyone's projects. I have a real shop to work in now, probably won't be as much fun as working outside but we'll see. Next phase is going to be to drop the winch and get at the final dr...
