well my Crawler Crawl is over... at least for a few days. Drove 4 hours to look at the loader tractor and it had serveral issues which would require a lot of work. In defense of the owner, he used it and it worked great for him until the transmission failed but it served its purpose. Instead of head...

John,

Would a 3-point / rockshaft on a dozer be considered an aux system and have the higher volume pump? I just bought a 1010 dozer with 3-point.

Thanks for all your help! Gonna make a book of your posts!

Deere 350C, 350D, 400G, 450C Relife Program history

A few days ago while searching the web for some 350 information I ran across a document which provides some history on the John Deere Relife program and explains how the program was adopted. I wasn't familiar with the program until reading it and now searching this message board I find jdemaris has ...

Crawler search... update

I'm still searching for a crawler and found a 1010 gas loader with reverser and 50 backhoe. Strong engine, good UC but transmission has a bad gear. Right side final drive casting was broken and welded. See pic. At the same time I found a 1010 diesel Dozer. 6 way hydro blade, no reverse but has a 3po...

Lavoy, Thanks for the information. The forward/neutral/reverse lever is on the lower left corner of the dash. I assume this is a reverser. Which would explain the oil leak. It started after putting the machine under load against the rock pile. Perhaps he didn't have it fully engaged. I noticed the l...

Thanks for the link. I remember seeing these pics during one of my searches. I also remember seeing a 4 in 1 bucket which is probably more practical and MUCH easier to switch back and forth! Drott I think is the name and I think Tigerhaze is looking for one. I looked at the crawler loader today. Thi...

Tigerhaze, Thank you for your help and advice. I really appreciate everyone's time. I was re-reading the thread and I wanted to make sure I didn't offend you with my comment about a crown on the road. I meant it to be an observation that you knew what you were doing. My brother has been working with...

Thanks for all the suggestions. Exactly what I was looking for. The top two questions on these forums are also the most subjective. "What to look for when buying a..." and "How much is it worth". The problem I had when searching to find my answers is I didn't know enough a few days ago to even know ...

Tiger, Thanks for the info. I called the guy and explained the rail / pin wear measurement. He measured them to be 25 5/8". Per the site you reference, this is beyond 100% wear; not good I assume. He did say the idlers are not fully extended. I assume if you run the chain beyond the 23.5" limit it w...

Thanks Lavoy, I'm not so worried about roll over on my mostly level ground but I will be working around trees. I would rather have something more substantial then a cap or hard hat! I continue to read but the more I learn the more questions! Other posts mention worn rails. I think the rails support ...

Thanks for the info. The reason I asked about parts is I have some mc/420/1010/2010/350 crawler NOS parts I have collected over the years. Some steering clutch / brake band parts for various tractors. Hopefully I will have something on hand to at least off set the repair costs. Lavoy, if I buy the 1...

1010C loader to buy or not...

Hello, I'm new to the this board but I did spend several hours searching the archives to answer some of my questions. I'm new to crawlers but do have some experience with John Deere wheeled ag tractors. I will be looking at a 1010 in the next day or two and would like to know what to look for. Based...
