Re: Body more worn out than my equipment
Lifting and rigging equipment are great. I call on my friend Hiab much more often these days. Plan it out as well. I heard this was attributed to Ronald Reagan. Don't just do something, stand there which I take as meaning think it out, plan it out then do it.

Re: 450c new trans
If you live in an area where the temp changes significantly from near freezing to 40's low fifties in spring and fall you will collect water in transmission from condensation. In NW British Columbia where I live my crawlers accumulate +/- a quart of water a year in transmission if not drained. Final...

Re: Back hoe attachment
Is your 450 a loader or a dozer? All loaders are equipped to mount hoe brackets. Manual out side dozers require additional mounting brackets to install hoe brackets and hydraulic power/angle/tilt (PAT) dozers require a specific dozer mount to accept hoe brackets. The hoe brackets for a 350 will not ...

If you don't go with 350D style isolator search show and tell or late model forum for an article on using a 100+ hp rated clutch assy bolted to the flywheel as an alternate style of torsional isolator.

Re: Help with a JD450 with motovational problems.
A few years back I was running my 450C dozer actually just driving back to its parking spot when it did the most gentle soft declutch and coast to a stop totally uncommanded by me. On my machine the lunch pedal works in 2 stages. The first stage is hydraulic declutching (basically opening a valve to...

If you are still looking for a complete reverser check out Vermont Craigslist. There is a guy in Johnson that advertises complete drive train components for 350's and 450's as well as parts

If you look through JWB contacting posts in either late model JD or Show and Tell it shows a portable pin press they made out of odds and ends that is capable of doing complete pin and bushing replacement as well as master pins. If your going old school get a big hammer 20 pound or more and a T hand...

If Dier doesn't work out check out Vermont craigslist heavy duty equipment. There is a guy in Johnson Vt with lots of 350 stuff. If that doesn't work pm JWB contracting (jdcrawler member)

Have you tried Heavy equipment Forums? In the dozer forum there is a subsection for Komatsu D20 and D21 dozers.

450 hoe bracket
I just sold mine and am a long way off. Broken Tractor in Louisiana has a fair bit of JD stuff. JWB Contracting and pondhogvt (posters on this site) might be worth contacting and Twin Deere in Edmonton Alberta Canada probably has one as well.

450C oil
Transmission and steering clutch housings on 450C are common oil source and use J20 spec oil. Final drives are separate from transmission and steering clutch. My 450C manual J20 here as well. On my straight 350 the service manual list J20 or 80/90 wt gear oil as acceptable for the final drives. To m...

450 fuel in crank case
A diesel fuel injection shop should be able to supply umbrella seals. Fuel spraying from the pump is something else, maybe a bad seal on the throttle shaft or loose bolt/bad crush seal on one of the injector lines would be my first guess. There are a few recent threads here with good info on removin...
