injector pump problem
I had the same problem and, if I remember correctly, it was all in the timing. Be sure you're on the correct stroke at TDC first. Then recheck the dots on the drive shaft. Mine was so far out, I didn't think it should even run. Idled nice and pulled higher rpms ok but, it reved up slowly and had no ...

I forgot-- When you feel compession stroke beginning, stop cranking and bar the engine over so you don't go past TDC. Greg

I think you can be on the flywheel mark and be 180 out. To be sure that your on the right stroke, you can pull the #1 injector--put your finger over the hole and crank to feel the compression stroke-- then see if your mark is correct. Greg

You may need to borrow a microm. to set it exactly. I think it should be within .0005". Make sure that your dots are matching on the drive shaft when you install the pump and be sure you're on TDC ,#1 cylinder, on the correct stroke. Greg

I believe the Mustang is newer than '68. '67&'68 were the same taillights and I think they were rounded inward. None of them run like a DEERE. Greg

new to me mc
If it were me, I'd use a 12 volt battery to crank it up. If your worried about the generator, just unhook it until; you get it home. It will crank much better and start up quicker. Don't crank it for long periods. The points and condenser will take the voltage a long time. If you convert the whole m...

1010 diesel starting problem
One of my 1010 diesel dozers cranked slow and started hard. I thought it had a tired starter. After removing the starter, I checked the numbers on it and found that it was a 24 volt. Now using 24 volts it cranks and starts as it should. I found the numbers for all the 1010s in my parts manual. I tho...

1010 crawler fuel tank and sediment bowl question
I believe that RT. front and left rear lines go to bowl/filters. The rt. rear should come straight up from the pump as the return line. Greg
