thats neat i wounder how or what was used for final drives and how they were attached. almost had to use the 60 tranmission?..... that 1010 or 2010 uc?

im bound to make this thing work! not really worth it but i am! lol. im slowly picking up on it. i understand the shaft but i could not see what the bands were pushing against on the spider. what is the purpose of the two bands?

8a winch clutch

does the clutch slave 'float' on the spider?, then bolts in the spider (pockets in the bands) drive the drum? when chutch is applied?

yes that does make sense thanks. i got some parts, trying replicate others. i read through the manual again. found out that there are 2 tubes, 1 with the spring and adjuster to hold tension on the band, to help create brake action (thats on the bottom). the 2nd tube comes from the slave to break the...

think i got the mechanical advantage of the brake figered out, it dont need to be relesed when the winch is powering in. when cable is pulled out or on, it natrally wants to pull tighter along with the spring pressure, then the slave releases it to free spool..... rite???
