Keith- A little off your direct topic, but I thought I would share since it may help answer your question about the 6-volt coil. I have a 1952 8N tractor that was originally 6-volt but was converted to 12-volt. The conversion mainly involved the altenator (including bracket and pulley), battery, and...

I have a question about this particular model backhoe. I am looking at one of these over the weekend as part of a package deal with a 2010 trackloader. I briefly looked at this particular attachment previously, but was not able to hook it up or operate it because of time constraints. It did have a l...

Hey TomCat- Digitup appears to be the better person to answer your question about the hydrostat drive. As for weights, according to the sales brochures the 450s did increase in weight over the years, probably due to the addition of features like turbo. The brochures showed a weight for early 450 cra...

I am probably not the best source of information as I am still learning myself, but I will give my best explanation and anyone else that has better information can jump right in. I assume you are asking what the different letter designations for the 450 model represent (450B, 450C, etc.). My underst...

Thanks- I appreciate the info. I plan on contacting the farmer that owns the machine and go do a more thorough inspection. I needed the weight information to find out shipping options; it is located almost 200 miles from me. I think it is in good enough shape for the limited use I will put it throug...

Lavoy- Thanks for the advice. I knew the loader and backhoe combination are heavy, but my guess was about a ton lower than you stated. It is really a stretch to try and pull that with a 3/4 ton truck with gooseneck trailer. One question- how do you know if the rails are the thin (old style) or thick...

Opinions on JD 2010 Crawler Loader
Greetings everyone- I just registered on this site, but have been visiting it for quite a while and learning as I go. Luckily I don't have to worry about a brand war when I ask about a Deere on here :) I recently found a JD 2010 crawler loader with Model 50 backhoe attachment for sale in my area. It...
