Re: To buy or not to buy

Lavoy (the proprietor of this site) had put together a kit the would upgrade the C series isolator to the much improved D series. FYI

Re: To buy or not to buy

Nice pics of the wide pad 350C. Really good snow groomer. The pads look to be in excellent shape.

Re: Hi Ho,Hi Ho it's off to work...

My small farm is ~1 mile off a main highway. This limestone road gets lots of traffic and plenty of litterbugs. No pay today, at least monetary pay. Once each spring before the grass grows, we pick up all the litter from the roadways. Lots of folks could careless what the roads and ditch look like. ...

Re: oil leaking from steering clutch housing

Is your crawler a track loader? SN lookup puts it as a 1974. Do you know if the sumps are common? Based on your symptoms, I would suspect your sumps are not common. The early C series did not have common sumps, but could be converted(as outlined in the tech manual). Non-common sumps have the trans s...

Re: oil leaking from steering clutch housing

I would suggest the hydraulic hose that operates the left steering clutch is leaking; therefore, filling the left steering clutch housing with oil.

Hello Amos,
That is a really good deal on the disc. I have several Landpride implements. They are very good pieces in my opinion.

Record low of 18 set in 1899 was broke in Western Iowa with a new low of 12 this AM 4/4/2018. It will be 4 more weeks before we have a frost free risk. Bruce

Re: 350B Loader Track

I suspect the prior owner "short tracked" the chain. Toward the end of u/c service life, the front idler runs out of adjustment. Some will cut out a link in the chain to regain some adjustment. It will not walk to one side or the other simple b/c of a short track, that would require other problems. ...

Re: 350c noise

First, I don't own a 350. But I have read plenty about the infamous isolator failure. Use this site to search for " 350 isolator ". I would say the brakes need an adjustment. Take care, Bruce

Happy Easter Amos,
It is one of the best feelings when things work as they should or you have rescued a piece other have deemed "expired"! Glad to hear your machine is back in service. Bruce

Re: 450 () Steering clutch/brake adjustments

Free play is the distance traveled from top of the pedal to first contact with the throw-out bearing. I'm not exactly sure of the brake material thickness. A guess would be 0.250. Bruce

Re: 450c fuel tank sump

One more word of advice. Be very gentle with the metal fittings in the sump drain. They are cast, they have a fairly large grain structure and have become more brittle over time. Ask me how I know!! I upgraded to steel fittings and I replace the valve with a 1/4 turn valve. Bruce

Re: 450c fuel tank sump

I had the same issue. I ran the fuel tank down to about 5-10 gals. I bite the bullet, I felt the drain would never clean out with 1-2 cups at a time. I removed the pipe hardware and used a combination of picks, screwdrivers, wire and small fingers to break open and flush out a bunch of compacted sca...
