I got down today and took the 5 roll 420 for a test run. I know it's been a couple weeks, but I wasn't sure the $$$ were going to be there. Ran the machine around and it's lots tighter and better running than my 40C. Much more substantial feel with the long tracks too. It's not much to look at since...

Bret, Very good price but are the pads included or just rails? 4 bolts on a 350 vs 2 bolts on the 420. Pads included. I looked at them today. They are showing wear up into the bottom of the pin boss from the rollers I imagine. Seems I read some where there are limits on that kind of wear and it's a...

I've looked and searched here for 2 days but I'm still confused. Found a fair 5 roll 420 to replace/take over from my 3 roll 40. The guy also has a set of 350 rails that are allegedly 50%. After P&B renew or turn at least, would the 350 rails fit either the 420 or my 1010 c/l/bh? I'm unsure at this ...

4th gear
Does anyone actually use 4th gear on a 40C? I tried the other day and I think the crawler was gonna shake apart. That was in snow too. Anyone know what 4th was supposed to be used for? Maybe pulling a rake or something?

Re: your clutch
I have a main clutch replacement coming up on my 40, so...what's this special gauge? I thought that was for the steering clutches?vtjoe wrote:we assume that you have "The Guage" for performing the proper adjustments.....it is a must have-- contact Lavoy for one if you don't

I'm late to the party, but we've been using the 40C steady all winter long. Clutch is slipping bad and 2nd gear is about all she'll take and that's on the flat. Spend a lot of time in 1st gear but she pulls fine. Hauled out the largest Black Cherry I've ever seen this past weekend too. Over 32" at t...

40C Idler wheel shaft thread size?
Title says it pretty much. Need to chase out the idler wheel shaft threads, need to know the original size. Amazing what 60 years of siting does to threads!
