Hi, I learned, decades ago, that these things flood *very* easily. My method of starting is to get the thing cranking over, and then pull out the choke, pushing the choke about halfway in as soon as the first cuylinder pops. They will flood if you have the choke pulled out and then work the started....

Hi, The only place to mount an auxillary pump on a 420 that I can readily think of is on the PTO shaft. Some of the 440 wheel tractors I've seen used this method for running loaders and backhoes (using the stock pump for power steering). I can't recall ever seeing this done on a crawler, though. Stan

The answer would also be 'no' if you're referring to automotive automatic transmission fluid.

The current name for JD hydraulic fluid is Hy-Gard, and that's what you want in the differential-style direction reverser. Plus, it's also what you want in the lift hydraulic system.
