I bought a 350B Loader at an auction for 1800 to get the engine but all it needs is track on the left side, hate to pull the engine out of it, may just fix it up too, lol.
That was a good auction find.A man can't have too much equipment: at least that's what I tell my wife :D

Re: Transmission help on older 550 crawler

You say the plate is on the side of the machine. This would be a plate on the end of the battery compartment, below the transmission shifter, correct? Stan Disbrow has a post in the FAQ section that lists the 550 serial numbers by year, this may help you identify your machine using the numbers on t...

Re: 350s reverser

Hi. I picked up a 1967 JD 350 with the reverser out of course. I have books on order from Davenport tractor but they are not here yet. So here’s my question, I’ve pulled the reverser but on the way out the brake pedal hits the right frame rail so you can’t take it off and it doesn’t clear the loade...

Re: Transmission help on older 550 crawler

May be a weak pump. Try pulling both steering levers back at the same time for a few seconds, then release them. If it tries to move, I think that might indicate your pump is weak. or seriously mis-adjusted linkages. Maybe? Here a 550C is considered "late mode"l :D I can't figure it out but PM Lavo...

Re: JD 450C radiator issues

I have a question. I put a new engine temperature gauge on it but it's not working. where exactly is the sending unit? I read its on the front of the motor on top of the cylinder. can anyone be more specific. what is considered to be the front? I'm thinking you might be a newbie to the wonderful wo...

Re: Gremlins are real....

Might have found the problem: lead to fuel solenoid at IP had some corrosion and was not tight(solenoid on back side of IP next to block). Cleaned and tightened and all seems good for now:or until I get a quarter mile from the shop... Now waiting on alternator pulley and have to install new belt and...

Re: JD 450C radiator issues

Hello, I am a new owner of a JD 450 C. I am having an issue with the radiator spitting out coolant from the overflow hole in the neck of the radiator. It starts spitting out as it gets up to operating temperature. It doesn't seem to overheat until it looses enough coolant. The previous owner said h...

Gremlins are real....

Working on a non JD loader landscaper. I cleaned the engine and did a heavy service cycle and must have awoken a gremlin as now I'll be running along just fine and loose voltage to the fuel shut off solenoid and it dies.Hit key to start and it runs fine then maybe dies: or not... Can't replicate pro...

Re: JD 450C radiator issues

To get the radiator out the bullnose has to come off. You'll also need to unbolt and move the hyd pump a bit(makes removing radiator easier and it's just 2 bolts). If you have a radiator shop you TRUST then rebuild is an option. If you don't have a trustworthy shop I would consider the new radiator o...

Re: 450c fuel tank sump

After 30 or 40 years you would be surprised what collects in the fuel tank.Run the fuel down and bite the bullet an take it apart for a good cleaning. Will save you troubles in the future and you probably won't need to do it again for another 30 or 40 years.....

Re: Hydroseeding

No problem Terry: glad to help and hope you make some good coin.Today was tree planting day at the factory garden spot. Just 3 bradford pear trees and got to use the JD 410 TLB to dig the holes.Hard old industrial high clay "dirt" and hand digging not even an option. Also had to cage 36 tomato and p...

Re: Hydroseeding

Hi Terry, Check out vsinnovation.com. They do have P/U bed units:300,400,500 gallon size. Can't comment on the price as we don't hydromulch here in Texas:either seed and cover with hay or sod.Once established the grasses come back every spring so it's a once and done operation. Look to be decent unit...

Re: almost free goodness for garden

Morning Ray, I see you're in the more liberal North-East.Politics aside Texans are a bit more laid back(except Dallas,Austin,Houston, and other 500K plus population centers). Nothing odd about seeing a farm tractor in our downtown area, still stop in the middle of neighborhood roads to talk to neighbo...
