Re: 350c thrown track

So when it rains it pours……. I threw the driver side track today. I loosened the jamb nut and took the bolt all the way out and tried pushing the front idler back to loosen the tension but the idler wouldn’t move back. Did I do something wrong? How do you reset the track? Never thrown a track, but ...

Re: 350C Crawler Loader Engine Issue

compression test was 290, 240 ,290 on a cold engine, repeated after putting some oil into the cylinder as suggested by the manual and got 480,290,500. The middle cylinder looks like an issue, but it is above the 264 psi that apparently is when diesel will ignite, It was above 264 when oil was added...

Re: 1975 350 Dozer leak

There is no such thing as "Fix It" in a can. These things are marketing gimmicks. All they do is cause the material the seals are made of to soften and swell up. This result may stop a leak momentarily but inevitably you will have to go in and fix the problem. I was just curious what folks thought....

Re: 1975 350 Dozer leak

In my experience, every time I had one come in with a seal leaking they all led to having bad bearings that caused the seals to fail. The input shaft on the early reversers especially are very prone to do this. Saying the bearings were good, has anyone ever used hydraulic sealant like the stuff Luc...

Reckon it should still do it's job since the journal is the same size as 1/8" before it...maybe even better if there was previous wear.

Re: Adding a Tachometer

Going from the description…I would assume the hole that the tach gear would go into is the same hole that item #6 in the below link would screw in to? https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/59420/referrer/search/pgId/20364 As it turns out, my machine doesn’t have this hole in it. ...

You'll feel that! When I swapped out my rails, sprockets, and new pads, I bought a nice electric impact. Won't stretch 'em, but gets within a half a turn!

Re: '73 - 450B Crawler/Loader/Hoe Restoration

Still don't know what I'm gonna do about the seat cushions, perhaps I could give it a go myself or find a local upholstery shop? Any suggestions? With the new, stretchy material they sell on Amazon, I did my motorcycle and quad seats last year. Watched a couple videos, no problem. Much cheaper that...

Re: JD 350b diesel in the oil. (Old loader sat for 17 years)

i noticed a lot of diesel near the fuel pump and thought it was leaking and i bought new gaskets and rebuilt it. Just to be clear, you installed a new diaphragm when you changed the gaskets? I didn't i just got a kit that had the gaskets and watched a guy on YouTube do it. He had the kit linked so ...
