Depending on serial number, I have new and used sprockets on hand.
To release the tensioner, take out the 1/2" bolt on the tensioner, and then back out the set screw that is under the bolt, and pull the idler back with a come-along or something like that.

I have not heard of an adapter, I think the housing from a later 1010 will bolt on, then you can use a spin on.

Do you mean the metallic replacement discs? I have put a couple of sets in, one in a 1010, and 2-420s. I think they are at least double the price of fiber discs now and maybe more. Main benefit I can see is they will not "grow" if they absorb moisture, and may not be as prone to sticking in high hum...

Some times you can get the shaft out. Main thing is to be careful you get it back in the right position as far as the splines are concerned.

I don't know about the make, but the first problem I see is the cooler is connected incorrectly, there is no line to the operators station.

Nick,
Yes, there is one in the final drive case, and one in the transmission case, it could be either one. Best to get it torn apart before the clutches get soaked with oil and ruined. I have brake bands on hand, probably have both seals on hand as well.

I do not know of any factory blade or loader that has adjustable glands, he is pulling your leg. You will have to take the cylinder/s apart and rebuild it.

I suppose a lot of it might be personal preference. I personally don't like ATF in either application. One reason may be that a multi-trans oil just may provide a little more cushion in these old girls than the thin red stuff. All in all, I don't think you will hurt anything either way.

If you have put a petroleum product on a clutch, it is essentially ruined. Even if it breaks loose, it will start to slip either immediately, or after a few hours use as the oil or whatever boils to the surface. You will be much better off in the long run if you pull it apart and check it out. Engin...
