Even with a blade on, you will need to hang counterweight on the front of the tractor to keep the front end on the ground. A local guy had one, and he had hug a couple hundred pounds under the front axle to try and hold it down, and this tractor had a loader on it. The main reason though is the hoe ...

Until proven wrong, I will say there are not weld on rims for 2010 sprockets. What guys are thinking of are the weld on 350 rims and they fail to understand that the 2010 uses a substantially larger diameter sprocket. That being said, if they will return your money if they don't fit, try it just for...

I would have to find my book to be sure, but about 9,250lbs pull, first wrap, full throttle. That is about what the book says, in my experience, it will drag a 5 roller 420 with a 62 blade across the yard with the engine idling and about 6 wraps of cable on it with the blade down, and the tracks loc...

The winch is an 8G, the brake lever is removed from the winch, but I can see the shift lever.

How come on those type of shows we never see them trying to take out all of the rusted bolts that broke off? I don't think those guys would ever make it working on crawlers.

Error in 440I and IC battery doors

To any of you guys that have gotten the RH removeable battery door for your 440 gas crawler or tractor, and are having problems fitting it, contact me. I think I have discovered one potential problem with the door. You can send me your old one, and if bad, the problem will be corrected or the door w...

Bill,
Just checked the valve number before I got on here, they are the same. I talked to one guy this morning, and he did not have anything.

I do not believe that the valves are the same, but I could be wrong, parts book will tell you for sure. There were a lot of 1010's made with the dash valve, so it is doable, just need to find the valve and/or linkage laying around. I will make some inquiries and see if I can scare anyting up.

Okay, here's my two cents, and worth every nickle you paid for it. You are restoring a relatively rare crawler. Spend some time lookinf for a dual valve and linkage from an early crawler and see what you find.

Correct hoe would a #50 or #51. I doubt you will ever find the mounthing brackets and all of the other assorted pieces that go along with putting one of them on a 420. Even if you did, you would hate it. A 440 is unstable at best with a hoe on it, and 420 would be almost scary, not to mention the in...

If it still has the original S series pistons, on a cold day it may never start without ether.
A little bit of water in the pan did not hurt anything cranking it over.
