It may not be fair to give an opinion from a picture, but this looks like another " SRM " model. The seller knows that if they can get it S tart, R un, and M ove, there is a sucker out there that will buy it. One of many red flags is that it is a dozer but has loader grousers on it. Not a deal break...

Ben, If it helps, it took me around 4 years all total to go from engine extraction to first start after complete rebuild. Much of that was delays due to my travel. However, repitition helps like with most task. I have another GM 2-53 that I am going to rebuild. I already know much of what is needed ...

"The Acquisition value shown represents the original price paid by the government for the item(s) listed - $22,000." WOW, no wonder our government is in so much debt. If they paid anywhere near $22,000 for this unit, some seller got rich!! It is likely a 1960 due to the center throttle. Some wise on...

Typically, as has been discussed on here by several, welding a washer/nut on what is left will work. However, since you are on a part that will be ruined with heat, maybe try one of the "easy out" tools. You may have to carefully drill a slightly larger hole depending on the easy out that you find. ...

The engines in 430's had a larger dip stick/oil refill inlet on the right side. As with most change overs, they used the parts they had at time of production. Yours got the older block with the smaller dip stick on the left. I owned a 430W that had the block casting for the larger dip stick, but it ...
