I've seen trailer mounted towable rigs but never P/U bed mounted. Most need a pretty big water tank(hydro) and water is surprisingly heavy.
Fairly significant capital investment so I would do a thorough market survey before making that commitment.

Re: almost free goodness for garden
Morning Stan, We get tornadoes in my neck of the woods and not very often that close(causing major and wide spread tree damage). Yours sounds like making lemonade from lemons :D At our big box building supply stores compost is $3.95 for 1.5 cubic foot. Mulch is about same for a 3 cubic foot bag.Down...

almost free goodness for garden
Here in my town we have a municipal compost site. 40 acre site with 3 city employees who collect tree trimmings, trees, leaves, etc and grind it and start compost process. Mulch is a little on the large side but the compost is as good as it gets. Used the dump trailer to get 26 yards of the mulch and 9...

I would do the testing to check pressures and go from there. Could be another seal blown or bad clutch pack(don't think the clutch pack is shot though).
Good you have the manual so testing should be somewhat simple. Keep posting what you find please.

Re: 550 dozer, air in radiator, milky oil coming out of the starter!
Just purchased a 550, started great, sounds perfect. BUT, a lots of tiny bubbles in the radiator, milky oil in the transmission and milky oil coming out of the starter. Still moves forward and back, blade works perfect. I'm thinking possibly air leaks in the cylinders into the cooling system and po...

Re: Leaky fuel injector pump
What parts book calls packing is actually "O" rings or a neoprene seal. When leaks show up it's time to rebuild it. New ultra-low sulpher diesel degrades the seals including the internal seals and when those go bad you can get diesel intrusion into the crankcase and thin the engine oil which will r...

Re: JD 450C radiator issues
That piece of metal could have been the foil seal from a jug of anti-freeze(especially since it was floating). On radiator caps: after a few bad "replacement" caps from parts stores I went back to using OEM only from a dealer. Cost more but the dang things fit and function correctly 100% of the time....

Re: Yup, I did it....
Made some calls yesterday and what I've been moving is called seal coat chip gravel. It is a crushed and graded product that goes for $30.00 a ton locally.3/8" to 1/2" in size with multiple flat faces so it sticks to the bitumen. And 1 yard does weigh 1 ton+/-. New chapter to the story: another contr...

Good job Keith! When you go back with new bolts Anti-Seize should be your new best friend. Can be found at any parts store.
