Re: lower carriage roller removal on a JD 450
The inner and outer rock guards should be removed. The entire undercarriage doesn’t need disassembled. At minimum, the track adjuster must be fully collapsed to slack the chain and pads. The crawler will need jacked and blocked. Depending on the amount of chain slack you may need to split the track ...

Re: 350 B steering clutch
First, let me say I don’t have a 350. And I have limited experience with a 350. But I have read here that the first disc goes behind the large snap ring inside the clutch drum.

Re: Looking for 450 tool tray pictures or measurements
After looking at your pictures and your explanation, I believe you are correct in putting the thumb hole to the rear and the block on top of the wooden plate toward the front. I had it in my mind the thumb hole was to the front only because of the picture Stan had posted. I think you are on the righ...

Re: Looking for 450 tool tray pictures or measurements
Hello Al, Thank you for the up date and photos. Some of the problem may be with the plate. I believe the block that is pictured toward the front is supposed to be placed to the back. I believe it is to the back to prevent the tool tray from touching the negative battery cable at the back of the batt...

Re: Straight 350 filters ?
Here is the Deere parts web site you need to use. https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/search The filters are definitely not the same number. Here is the Deere reverser filter. #12 subs to a new number https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/62257/referrer/navigation/pgId/171129 Here...

Re: Straight 350 filters ?
Fuel filters are the same. Use this sites search function to make sure you are installing them correctly. There are many threads here about improper installation and the crawler not running. The reverser filter is not the same filter as the hydraulic filter. The hydraulic filter is in the hydraulic ...

Making it all 16GA is a good idea. Heavier is better for a crawler! Right? LOL

Re: JD350 thru JD350D Serial Numbers
its getting picked up tomorrow its $7600 hope its a good deal LOL... I tried to find others to compare but in california I don't see anything. I did find a used cage for it which hopefully is still available. Sounds like it was well bought. A ROPS would really finish that rig off! Good luck to you,...

Re: JD350 thru JD350D Serial Numbers
That is a clean looking machine! With the added weight of the 4 in 1, the winch/fairleads the single bar grousers are going to bite like mad!! Be cautious as this will place extra stress on the u/c and steering clutches. The winch and the fairleads are a nice extra. Wish it had a ROPS. Especially wi...

Re: Vandalism guard and tool tray insert for the left box
Good morning oldmetalmender, My original and your copy of the vandalism guard look amazing. Thank you for your talented work, including the extra work to make my OEM cover look new. Your replacement fits extremely well. It is as snug and tight as the original. I say it is an exact copy. The steel is...

Re: Another 450C Steering Clutches
Are we certain this is a “C” series. The “B” series and earlier had dry steering houses. Yes the steering packs are released by a hydraulic actuated throw-out bearing. In a dry clutch scenario, If a hose breaks or the throw-out diaphragm leaks in a a dry clutch housing you will have lots of oil wher...

Re: Vandalism guard and tool tray insert for the left box
Hey oldmetalmender!
Both vandal guards have made it to Iowa safely. I’m still at work but my 15 yo son opened the package and sent some pictures to me. He always does this, I guess he loves opening the mail/presents. They look great. I will test fit and report back.
Thank you,
Bruce

Re: Looking for 450 tool tray pictures or measurements
I too believe that is an original. I remember seeing a number of crawlers with those over the batteries, even if the tool trays were missing. The parts book shows AT18737 as a plate, NLA. The drawing looks like this as well. Jim, This makes more sense. I have been looking for an AT18737 part for ma...
