For what it is worth I will add my 2 cents worth. I have heard through the grapevine, (don't quote me) that the border patrol and other groups are buying up all of the ammo, since they can't take away our firearms they will just take away our ammo. Does that make any sense to anyone? I have also hea...

MC block

I am looking at possible purchase of a disassembled MC crawler and the engine block has surface rust on the top of the block as well as on the cylinder walls. My question is: What is the best way to remove the rust without damaging the block? Block is not pitted, just heavy surface rust. How should ...

MC60 blade

I'm looking at an MC crawler, with no blade. Is the MC60 blade still available or do they ever come up for sale used? What about the tool carrier is it just as rare? Concerning the tool carrier, does the carrier have to be removed from the dozer to use in the rear for the implement or can it just ro...

430

I don't see much chatter about the 430 Model, can a person still get parts for it? Other than the obvious track, rail and roller wear, are there any other problems to look for on the 430 when looking to purchase one?

JD 440 Brake band

Is it a big job to replace a broken brake band in a JD 440 dozer?
For example can a person just remove a cover to access the band, remove and put a new brake band in or does the crawler have to be split etc.
What would be the total cost to do the repair?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Re: 440 JD

I have 2 440's If one sells I want to keep the other one. One is a 440icd that the tranny has been loose for a while and didn't have time to fix it and something let go and I think it was in the reverser. It will not move and coudn't shift the reverser any more. Has good undercarrage rops winch and...
